Troubled Windows

Troubled Windows (とらぶる・うぃんどうず Toraburu Windouzu) is the most notable OS-tan multimedia presentation created. Originally it was a just a flash animation showing a possible intro to an imaginary anime show (in which there also exists a Photoshop-modified picture, mimicking news of a new animation release in a Japanese magazine).

Since then it has been more widely adopted to encompass most OS-tan media, with many doujinshi and even figures using Troubled Windows in titles and packaging.

Opening

The original flash animation opening is theorized to have been the first major media made of Troubled Windows. As a Flash animation it features interactivity, where the viewer can click to cause different visuals in the animation.

Music

The music is Sakuranbo Kiss ~Bakuhatsu da mo~n~ (さくらんぼキッス 〜爆発だも〜ん〜 translates to Cherry Kiss ~it's an explosion mo~n~), by KOTOKO, which was originally the opening theme from a visual novel known as Colorful Kiss (カラフルキッス～12つの胸キュン！～), released by GIGA.

Lyrics

While the original song has its own lyrics, the Troubled Windows animation displays subtitles for different lyrics that better fit in with the idea of it being an OS-tan anime intro.

Ending

OS Pittan is a flash animation showing a possible ending animation for Troubled Windows, however it lacks the high level of interactivity that that opening has.

Music

The music is Futari no Xenopittan (ふたりのぜのぴったん), a remix version of Futari no Mojipittan, a song from the PS2 word puzzle game Mojipittan. The song was made for a game based on Mojipittan called Xenopittan, which features characters and terminology from the PlayStation 2 game Xenosaga. It is found on a fan disc for Xenosaga, known as Xenosaga Freaks. It can be heard at the end of the medley found here.

The song was sung by voice actresses Shishido Rumi_{(MOMO in Xenosaga)}, Ai Maeda_{(Shion Uzuki in Xenosaga)} and Suzuki Mariko_{(KOS-MOS in Xenosaga)}. The OS Pittan animation treats the three distinct voices as ME-tan, XP-tan and 2K-tan respectively, with each of them being animated to sing their respective lines.

Trivia

• Unlike the opening OS Pittan has subtitles that almost entirely mach the lyrics, with the exception of "pittan" sometimes being changed to "OS-tan".
• ME-tan can be seen freezing and needing to be restarted several times in the animation.
• As a satire, Bill Gates was mentioned in the credits of this hypothetical anime (after about 50 seconds).
