Technical details

TSOS was released as a user-friendly mainframe OS that provided an interface for both batch and time-sharing processing that was simplified, efficient, and had an advantage of its contemporaries, such as the OS/360 series.

Character details

TSOS-tan is represented as a woman with black hair in a hime cut, is about average height, and she wears a red+white dress with a lightning bolt pattern on it. Her dress looks like a cross between a dirndl and a kimono.

She is patient and polite, even when under pressure from more arrogant Guild members. She enjoys many TV and radio programs, listens to 8-track tapes, and knows a lot of trivia about the entertainment industry, which she still pays attention to.

She isn't very secure of her identity, and spent much of her life moving from one mainframe faction to another. Finally, she settled into the IBM culture, but still doesn't feel sure where she belongs. Friendlier than most of the IBM-tans, but is passive-aggressive towards them, especially their de-facto leader OS/360-tan, but that is in part TSOS's attempt to hide her feelings towards OS/360.

History and background

TSOS-tan was born into RCA in the 1960's, and cherished her time there, but had to leave everything behind when she was suddenly transferred to the Unisys faction in 1971. There, she was frequently overlooked and struggled to make any friends. These experiences left her bitter, and threatening revenge against them multiple times, but nothing had come out of those threats. Her connections to the Unisys-tans are gone now, and she prefers to forget about them.

Currently, she works for, and is still affiliated with is Fujitsu-Siemens while also affiliated with the IBM-tans. She is much happier working for these two factions, even though she still struggles with her sense of identity.
