Technical details

The Commodore Plus/4 is part of the Commodore 264 series, released in 1984; the Commodore C16, C116 and Plus/4. These computer systems have similar capabilities, and are compatible with each other. The C16 and 116 had 16 KB of RAM, the Plus/4 had 64 KB of RAM. They had a more advanced version of Commodore BASIC, and supported more colors, but lacked hardware support for sprites, and the Plus/4's built-in office programs were severely limited.

The C16, C116 and Plus/4 were limited to not replace the C64, but to replace the VIC-20, and to be a competitor against the Sinclair computers. The 264 series was a flop in the US, but the C16 and C116 had some success in Western Europe, the C16 was successful in Mexico, where it was sold until 1992. The Plus/4 was successful in Eastern Europe after being sold at lower prices than other computers, and had the greatest success in Hungary.

Character details

Plus/4-tan represents the Plus/4 along with the C16 and C116, and is represented as a teenage girl with short light blue hair, dark blue eyes, and a headset. She wears her jacket and boots from her Commodore Fleet uniform with a dress that is lilac and white, or black and white with rainbow trim modeled after the rainbow trim of the Plus/4.

Her Commodore Fleet uniform jacket resembles C64-tan's, but is shorter, and is black and orange instead of white and blue. Sometimes she's depicted wearing a traditional Hungarian folk dress, as Hungary is where the Plus/4 had the most success, and still has quite a following today. The collar of her jacket is decorated with insignia on each lapel, with the Commodore logo, arrow keys modeled after the Plus/4's and C116's arrow keys, "C264", and "Plus/4". She also has "C16" and "C116" insignia on each of her jacket pockets.

In her full uniform, she wore her jacket and boots with a white skirt, a grey shirt, white tie, and a black and white hat with rainbow stripes.

She is quiet, and somewhat melancholy, but is helpful and has great communication skills. She is an artist, though she is not naturally talented at art, referencing the 264 series' lack of hardware sprites, but she has become skilled at art. She is very efficient with resources, and is good at programming, but is naturally bad at handling spreadsheets or graphs, the tasks she was originally meant to do.
