DexOS is a free and open source OS written entirely in assembly language, has a complete GUI, is easily customizable and focused on speed to be the fastest modern OS. One of its default GUIs is a futuristic-looking, game console-inspired OS. Another is a simple green+silver theme and another one called the Dextop which resembles a simplified version of Windows XP's GUI.

DexOS-tan is represented as a 60 cm [2 ft.] tall robot girl with silver hair, bright green eyes, a red helmet with mechanized ant antennae, a matching skirt, headphones imitating the Dex 4U logo, blue jacket and silver boots. She is extremely fast but despite being modern, she is always confined to single tasking. And while usually not very strong nor much of a fighter, she is able to physically upgrade herself if the need arises referencing DexOS's ability to swap components as the user sees fit.
