Technical Details
Construction on the FUJIC computer began in 1949 and was completed by March, 1956. It was built by one person - Dr. Okazaki Bunji - and was used by photography and imaging company Fujifilm to perform lens design calculations. The first stored-program computer in Japan, FUJIC was about twice as fast as expected.
Character details
General
FUJIC-tan is depicted as a young woman with dark brown hair, olive-green eyes and glasses. She wears traditional Japanese attire, usually a silver kimono with green trim, as well as bronze hair decorations.
Personality-wise, FUJIC-tan is resourceful, intelligent and somewhat overachieving. She is an optical engineer by trade, specializing in camera lens design. An avid photographer, she carries a camera with her wherever she goes.
History and background
FUJIC-tan was born in the early 1950s and completed her training by the middle part of the decade. Unlike many computers of her time, she was raised by a single person - something that perhaps made her a bit prone to being socially-overwhelmed later in life. She debuted in 1956, at which point she began working in lens design.
Her career was a short one, even by 1950s OS-tan standards - she retired in 1958. It is thought that she is still alive today, studying science history.
