One of the less common OS-tans, Debian-tan personifies the very popular Debian Linux, often called Debian, is a desktop Linux distribution. Debian is a free operating system. Its primary form, Debian GNU/Linux, is a popular and influential Linux distribution. Debian GNU/Linux is the basis for several other distributions, including Knoppix, Linspire, MEPIS, Xandros, and the Ubuntu family.
The main design for Debian-tan was posted on 10/9/2005 by the Italian artist Juzo-kun. This Ubuntu-tan is older with light skin, but still has a kind and serene quality to her. Her clothing is also a combination of motifs based on the Debian logo. She wears a burgundy trenchcoat and hat with the Debian logo, as well as sporting armor and a spear, following the trend of depicting all Linux-tans as members of a warrior-class. She has a quiet personality and rarely makes trouble, stemming from the OS's stability and good performance (like most of her sisters).
