Despite the popularity of Windows-based OS-tans, there are considerably few renditions of Windows OSes prior to version 3.1. One possible reason for this omission can be traced to the perception of Windows 3.1 as marking the beginning of Microsoft Windows' rise to dominance (hence, the origin of the Windows family), and thus delegating versions 1.0 and 2.0 as simply younger facets of the more memorable version 3.1. Therefore, only a handful of designs that can be confirmed by OSC to exist, all of which share similar-enough traits to be considered as a single character rendition. | Despite the popularity of Windows-based OS-tans, there are considerably few renditions of Windows OSes prior to version 3.1. Windows 2.0-tan is depicted as a young | Windows 2.0-tan, the daughter of Windows 1.0-tan, is depicted as a young girl of about 7 or 8 years old but uncharacteristically-skilled in masonry (a reference to her setting the foundation for Microsoft's future success). She has bright blue eyes, short black hair, and wears a large white hairband tied in the front with ends in the shape of a 2.0. She wears a simple blue grade-school uniform with long lavender socks and black strapped shoes, and given her masonry profession she can also be seen wearing orange rawhide gloves.
Unlike Windows 1.0-tan, 2.0-tan has a level of maturity that belies her physical age, and is fully aware of her surroundings as well as the actions and intents of others. Nearly all but Windows 3.1-tan are unaware of her existence, yet Windows 2.0-tan has the most reliable and complete knowledge of the true Windows family tree -- surpassing even the recollections of MSDOS-tan, PCDOS-tan and OS/2-tan given her former favorable position with Father. Her exile, along with her mother 1.0-tan, were in part due to her unwillingness (and technical inability) to adapt to the aggressive tactics commonplace during the commercial OS Wars. This banishment, followed by years of hardship as a Wanderer, has done little to affect her shy and demure disposition, but has done much to destroy her trusting spirit and optimistic outlook on life.
She and her mother 1.0-tan currently reside with other Vintage OS-tans, far away from their legitimate family. She works hard to become a valuable and loyal member of this newfound family, albeit often at the cost of her health.
