The predecessor to the House of Mac was the [[Apple Family | Apple Family]], established in 1977 by [[Apple I | Apple I-tan]] and [[Apple II | Apple II-tan]]. The Apple Family split in 1993 and was changed to the House of Mac when Apple II-tan left along with [[GS/OS | GS/OS-tan]] and [[Apple Lisa | Lisa-tan]] to make up for all the years Apple II-tan hadn't been able to interact with them much at all.

The House of Mac was at its most powerful from 1993 to the end of 1995, but hit rock bottom from 1996 to 1997 because the Mac-tans were slow to change. Their forces were primarily used for domestic control and parades, but at the cost of disregarding modernizing their actual military forces since they thought they'd never really have to use them for actual combat. And in turn, the Macs had grown overconfident and short-sighted. This left the Mac-tans unprepared for the new styles of war and market warfare that developed during the [[OS-tan Wars | OS Wars]] that included scorched-earth tactics. However the main factor that nearly caused their demise was not outdated military technology (since good tacticians can make good use of any weapons) but poor planning, overconfidence and short-sightedness.

During the OS Wars, the [[Windows Family]] forces conquered most of the Mac-tans' territory (including their capital city), destroyed most of their forces and [[95-tan]] vanquished [[Mac OS7 | Mac System 7-tan]] in a historical swordfight. [[A/UX | A/UX-tan]] was evicted by executives from the House of Mac in 1996 as a cost-cutting measure because she was 'too costly to keep around'.

There was also the infamous Powerbook 5300 incident in which several hundred had to be recalled and damaged Apple's credibility.

[[A/UX | A/UX-tan]] was evicted by executives from the House of Mac in 1996 as a cost-cutting measure because she was 'too costly to keep around'.

Although displaced from their hometown (which still remains largely destroyed and abandoned to this day) during the war, they consolidated everything they had to defending their last stand: their old art district, which had terrain in their favor, a very hardy and proud populace, and enough resources to sustain their rather-late modernization drive. Coincidentally it was also in this same district as Apple II-tan's farm and current site of the [[Binteeji Renmei]], thus also ensuring their survival.

Here their standoff worked, and they were able to stall for time until their old leader made his return, instituting sweeping changes that would propel the Mac-tans and their forces into the 21st century. During this time, they got support from the UNIX-tans (who trusted them because of the Mac-tans being kind and accepting towards A/UX-tan when she lived with them and taking in [[NextSTEP | NeXTSTEP-tan]] as a stepsister when she herself was on the verge of demise), as well as from other new allies.

The Mac-tans in the present day are described as posh but friendly, resourceful and practical. Although the Classic Mac OS-tans and the Mac OSX-tans are not related by blood (and are actually stepsisters), they are all a close-knit family bonded by friendship. However this doesn't shenanigans from occurring in the Mac House!

Even though the entire Apple Family isn't united anymore, they still keep in contact with one another as many vintage Apple enthusiasts, Newton users A/UX users are also Mac users.

The Mac-tans' short-sightedness and poor strategies during the OS Wars parallel that before 1996, Apple did not see Windows as a threat- even though Windows 3.1 and 95 sold extremely well. Also during this time, Apple licensed the Mac OS to third parties for 'Mac clones' which ended up stealing Apple's marketshare since the clones were more powerful and less expensive. There was also the infamous Powerbook 5300 incident in which several hundred had to be recalled and damaged Apple's credibility.

==Mac Clones==
The Mac clone-tans were powerful hired mercenaries by the Mac-tans. They were hired in 1995 but the clones ended up doing a lot more harm than good and another major factor that nearly caused the House of Mac's downfall. The Mac clones were gradually all fired, with the last one being fired in 1997 thanks to [[OS8 | Mac OS 8-tan]].
