I was looking at this, its about 55 bucks, and I could upgrade the plates (well, it has room for inserts, but doesn't come with any)

yea, mostly.

I mean military gloves, I'd like some for Rugby, but also for when I'm "dressed up", so they can't have fingers, must grip, be okay in water. . . Any tips?

humm, like I said, either US cav, or possibly a weight lifting store, they have the same kind of gloves (with less padding on the back, or possibly a paint ball store

Its a "trans" comic, its okay.
Theirs also Gray Matters which is okay too,
Then theres Transe-Generation which is hellarious, but you might need background info to understand.
Second Stage is my farvorit because of the art.

panda-san, the Transe-Generation comic was pretty funny; I read all the strips back when you first mentioned it. Oh, and talking about comics (or skipping to manga), I just got myself the 8th books of both Negima and Mahoromatic... good time reading them ahead. ^_^
