@Leaf: LOL

Just finished breakfast;  waiting for time to clock in

Chocofreak13

@leaf: the internet has trained you well, grasshopper. -w-
@bells: shiiiit man, hope you're okay. o__o;;

shift today went alright in retrospect but i was petrified the entire time. Joann's gives basically nothing in the way of formal training so i'm just gonna have to wait and see how else it's gonna go. not helping matters was that the day was fucking swamped today and since i'm not authorized (or really trained) to operate a register yet i could only stand and stare. ;^;
on the upside, i was still able to help some customers by leading them to stuff and putting stuff away today, so it wasn't a total wash. still felt like i was just doing busy work and standing around, though, so i'm still a bit nervous.
also, the girl who trained me today is leaving (today was her last day), so i'ma have to gravitate towards others for help (thankfully, i chatted with a nice woman who works there named Sue that i've seen around for a few years). i'm hoping i can work shifts with Sue, Lacy (the girl who basically got me into this job) and Stephanie (super-nice, super-hands-on manager that i've had great customer experiences with and seems to sympathize with new hires).

i'm also a bit anxious to learn cutting counter. as soon as i do i'm basically going to be glued there.

That's how the first day on the job tends to go. ^^;;

Also, I'm looking at glasses frames online because I need a new pair with a slightly stronger prescription +  blue-light filtering (computer monitors give me eye strain headaches), I could just get the lenses in my current glasses replaced but I've wanted a new set of frames for awhile.....

The problem is I don't know if I'm cool enough to pull off any of the styles I think are cute. :s

Nichi

I honestly need to get new glasses -w-;
(I'm tempted to get 2 pairs, if I could afford it; have a special pair set aside for trap mode >w>; )

Nichi

@Aurora: I know the feeling; whenever I work Sunday, we're horribly understaffed to the point nothing gets done...and the nightshift guy simply doesn't understand this >_>;

Tomorrow, I'm stuck there until 1AM for the Borderlands launch; hoping it goes well :\

What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

woke up early yesterday to make cookies. did not do the cooking by the book, they came out better than they would have otherwise.
went to Steve's. ended up lying on top of each other for probably an hour and a half without even meaning to.
went to my sister's. stayed for dinner and we ended up eating not only some of the stuff i brought but some of the stuff my sister made as well. enjoyed their company and ended up being goaded into watching The Big Lebowski at the end (both of us were asleep for at least half of it; he because he couldn't hold interest and me because i was dead on my feet).
drove back to his place, ended up sleeping almost immediately (lol).
woke up today and spent the better part of our time together cuddling.

we agreed yesterday that at some point we'd like to move in together.

ermahgerd i think i'm falling in lurve again

@Cockle: *hug*

So, here's a rundown of my day, for the curious; presented in the various phases, just for excused to type out some of these titles.

Phase 1: The Reincarnation of Nichi Madobe
The day began as par usual...but I had a pleasant surprise in that UPS not only showed up today, but showed up before 8PM; meaning 2k's drive arrived. Since I wanted to get a jump start on that, and I was also kinda pissed off at mom, I swapped out the drive, packed up 2k, along with all the discs I need, and went to grandma's office to spend what little of the day I had left getting everything set back up, while using Asagi to watch the new AT4W and chat with Kari.

In the few hours I was there, I got 2k back up to a moderately functional form; installing all the various drivers, some updates, and Avast before I had to wrap it up and go to work; vowing to return the next day to finish the mission.

Phase 2: Confusion & Delay
I arrive at work a little early; giving me time to breath before I have to clock in and get to work. I got out to my department...and my coworkers were confused as to why I'm there, when I'm scheduled off. In fact, I'm also confused; I understood that my former Gamestop crew was taking over the department from 4PM to 1AM, and was wondering where everyone was. Also, I was let down that the coworker I wanted to join me for this was not available; as he had been there since earlier that afternoon and was scheduled to get off 10PM. Thus, I spent the first part of my shift doing normal stuff; trying to keep myself busy while waiting for the night to come.

The day was nice so far...barring an encounter with a customer that is rapidly becoming a problem, which was quickly swept under a rug and forgotten until I sat down to write all of this.

Phase 3: Encounter at Farpoint
Next up, I went on lunch. You may recall me mentioning in the Relationships topic the other day, about that girl I was interested in? Well, turn out she's the stepdaughter of my former boss from Gamestop, and we also have a lot in common; like in some aspects of gender identity (She, or rather, he identifies as male and prefers male pronouns, while I tend to identify female but only prefer female pronouns when presenting myself as a woman via trap mode). I also learned he plans to go to the comic con in Tyler in a few weeks with his dad, so I may try to make last-minute plans to go (Since my former boss said he'd give me a ride if I pitch in some gas money).

All in all, it was quite nice getting to visit (And kinda funny this would happen, when I did mention this to Kari earlier in the afternoon). Next, would begin the descent into shit.

Phase 4: The Director vs. Grand Bitch
I come back to my department, finding everything in order...except as I began to search for the game Bill requested we put on display, my boss appears and demands to know why I'm digging through the used games bin. This would begin a multitude of problems with her throughout the night; as I merely ask a question and she starts screaming at me about how "THIS IS NOT MY THING; YOU'RE DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVE DOING THIS", and her assistant (The usual asshole nightshift guy) had no clue what was going on and openly called the whole thing "stupid". Also, I heard him and her talking about how they think my former boss from Gamestop is trying to suck up to the store manager to take over her department, and how he plans to leave if the store manager kicks her out (...all the while, I'm honestly wishing this would happen; just so I'll never deal with either one of them again).

Also, obviously I'm an idiot for ignoring the ladder in my department, and apparently I've been with the company twice as long as I really have (I've only been here 3 months; my boss, and I quote, yelled at me for being here for "6 months" and not knowing where the ladder is). In my entire time here, I have needed that ladder exactly 0 times; excuse me for not paying attention to it.

However, thing would start to pick up as the midnight launch party went underway.

Phase 5: The Return of Captain Awesome
The party began, as people I haven't seen in a while began to pour in to see what was up; wanting in on the cupcakes and raffle. It was quite nice; we had a good turn out...but very few of them were actually here for the game; most were just there because of my former boss running it (Whom was known as "Captain Awesome" back when he was at Gamestop).

We had a raffle, which sadly wasn't to win a waffle, but someone did win a PS4. It was nice...barring an instance with asshole nightshift guy coming over, violently putting his hand on my shoulder, and snarling in my ear about how I need to answer the phone when it rings (Because he loves to hold that over everyone's heads about how he has it so hard because he has to do his usual shit and has to answer phones and blahblahblah; when I work days and have to deal with, in one day alone, tenfold the customers and phone calls he has in a week tops). As he walked off, I whispered to one of my former Pizza Hut coworkers, whom was there (And used to work at Walmart years back), "I hate that bastard".

Otherwise, the rest of the night was good...but not before one final issue; involving my schedule for tomorrow.

Phase 6: One Final Objection
As the party came to a close, and I completed clean-up from it (and finally got my cupcake), my boss gave me the go-ahead to go home...but first, I wanted to make sure my schedule was fixed. However, she only checked her book (The one she can easily edit, obviously), and it still listed me; as she demanded I be there at 8AM...when it's nearly 1AM, leaving me with absolutely no time to sleep, because she doesn't have anyone else capable of opening the connections center.

Not ready to just give up, especially when I had plans for tomorrow, I go to the back and access my schedule from the computer (Which I trust a lot more than that book; given my boss doesn't have the authorization to edit that schedule)...and lo and behold, the manager I talked to did edit my schedule; I am off tomorrow. Thus, I walked back to my department, presented the evidence to my boss (I felt like Phoenix Wright, for the record...with a dash of Mario from this GIF)...and she seemed baffled, as she was left wondering who was going to run my department tomorrow in my absence...all the while, I'm just like "not my problem"  and casually stroll away; as, in the end, I got the last laugh.

I then picked up some chocolate milk, and went home...when a final issue presented itself.

Phase 7: The Asagi is Dying
I arrive home at about 12:45AM, with the parents asleep of course. I brush my teeth, settle down into my room, setup Asagi, and begin to type this out while also checking out the new posts. Unfortunately, Asagi's screen seems to be giving out; she's had more of a problem with the screen flickering as of late, and at one point while browsing OSC, the screen went completely black and didn't cut back on until I adjusted it a bit. Thus, I'm getting this feeling I may have to fall back onto Asagi's previous form if this issue persists, or at the very least, find a replacement screen.

All in all, a decent night, barring some hiccups and the looming threat of having to make more drastic changes to my laptop. I do still hope I hear from the hospital soon :\

@cocks: gah, and after i mentioned all that lovey-dovey bullshit! i'm so sorry. ;^;

@pent: way to be a badass, man. -w-
also, holy shit that's convenient, get your former boss to formally introduce you. at the very least, you may make a new friend. ^^
(sucks about Asagi, though. when one door opens, another closes, huh? :\ )

Nichi

@Kari: Indeed :3
Also, last night was basically our introduction; as the 3 of us, after the business stuff was put aside, were discussing nerdy things -w-

So, apparently a bunch of people in my department called in sick, so they were trying to get me to come in. Thankfully, that manager gave me the day off, and the store manager himself told me on the phone that "if you're scheduled off and already have plans, I wouldn't worry about it".

Now, I'm about to pack up and go to grandma's office to finish setting up 2k.

work this evening. nervous, but after visiting with Steve over the weekend i feel better about things. i'm hoping that thinking of him will burn away the nervous film covering me atm. also we can't get the ring around the collar stains out of my longsleeve shirt and it's getting a little frustrating (thankfully, they're inside the collar, not near the top, so as far as i'm concerned if we can't get it out and it's clean, i don't really care).
