I do agree that people should eat as well as their budget and schedule can allow (dunno how it is in Europe but in North American not having the money or time to cook healthy, home-made meals is extremely common) and that physical activity is important for people of all shapes and sizes but I also disagree that being overweight is in and of itself bad, or something that all people can necessarily control. There are lots of people who eat well and are physically active yet still become (or remain) overweight, and others who eat garbage and lie around all day and are still very thin. My mom was sedentary and had a very rich diet with lots of sweets and sugary drinks and she never weighed more than a hundred pounds or so (granted, she was terribly ill in the last part of her life so her lifestyle may've impacted her health in other ways). I'm kind of the same, too — not at all physically active and probably not eating the best things, yet my weight's at the low-ish end of the spectrum for somebody my height. Likewise, I know overweight people who have good eating habits and physical activity and are still fat. The environment and genetics arguments may be abused by hardline fat activists, but I think there really is a lot to be said for a person's genes and settings for determining their weight. It's not always something that can be overcome through sheer willpower alone.

That said, I disagree with the HEALTHY AT ANY SIZE crowd — if a person's overweight enough that their health and mobility begin to suffer, they should certainly work to reduce their weight for the sake of their own quality of life. Unless that line is crossed, though, I don't believe being overweight is in and of itself problematic. (Same goes for underweight people as well.)

I think the focus should be living the healthiest life you can, not becoming one size or another. Trying to better your health, eat well and be more active are excellent goals for everyone to have regardless of size.

@genpop: back in town bitches, sorry i was gone so long. ben's getting his phone set up next wednesday which means that should i go out there again i will be online still. -w-
@weight: i have a semi-friend (more my sister's friend, but still a nice guy who i've known a long time) who has thyroid issues and is thus rather overweight. he eats healthier than i do and used to play DDR quite a bit, but has been basically the same size the entire time i've known him. on the other hand, my aunt ALSO has a thyroid condition and is stick-fucking-thin.

then there's melissa, who eats basically nothing but junk, leads a sedentary lifestyle and is still EXTREMELY thin. she's actually trying to GAIN weight (and i don't think she's succeeding).

you've all heard my regular diet, which is to say all the garbage and toxic waste i call food. yet, after losing the one form of exercise i had in life (commuting), i only gained about 20 pounds. cutting back a little on the food brought me back down to normal. weight isn't all about food and exercise level, honestly.

EDIT: oh yeah, forgot to mention, over the course of 10 days i was in 31 towns.

AAAH IT'S GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK~

Sounds like you had a very busy couple of weeks... I feel tired just reading that. 0_0

What's Ashby like? Honestly hadn't heard of it until i read your list.

Chocofreak13

gorgeous! of what i drove in, half of it was very much a little tiny new england town with tons of old-as-hell buildings/houses/etc and a little country store and the like, and the other half was nothing but state forest. and what a massive, beautiful state forest it was. 3+ miles of thick trees, campsites, a couple rivers and a lake or two. it's really a lot of what i wish my town was.

i swear to god i saw so many fucking lakes out there. it must have been at least 20.

also, the route i took went through mass to get to Rindge, and as soon as you go over the border to NH, the road goes up in quality about 50-75%. xDDD

I'm on break now. There's a problem customer due to a cell phone company taking their timec activating his phone on their end :/

Chocofreak13

Nichi

IDK how it ended, but given that I heard that he went down the toy aisle and began throwing stuff off of the shelves in rage over his phone taking so long to activate, likely not :\

Bella

What was he, like six years old?

Also I'm surprised he didn't get kicked out for that.

Nichi

Just another 50+ year old manchild :\
