sis is interviewing for a job at a call centre today. she says they're desperate for people so i'm really considering applying, but i'd be working 5 days a week for at least 9 hours at a stretch. the pay is great (around $1500/mo) and apparently they can try to work out a schedule for me if i get back into school, but all the same i can't help but think of what i'd be giving up. at least they have an 8:30-5:30 shift so i could still have the evenings. :\ plus i'm kinda desperate for cash at this point, and their dress code is fairly lax, so....

$1500 a month? Damn; I only make maybe $600 a month where I'm at :\

Hooooooooooly shit, I would murder a hobo for a job that high-paying!

Going home from orientation now; I'll post more when I'm back at the house.

Nichi

Alright. Hope it went well :3

Also, agreed. That's roughly what I made at the hospital in early 2011; after my pay raise but before my hours were cut >:3

Bella

I made about $1000 over the course of FIVE MONTHS at the ski resort. Granted, I was working part time, but it was still depressing as hell to be only pulling in a couple hundred a month. :/

It went really well! I'm more impressed by the school than I thought I would be, and all the faculty members I met seemed like nice people. My classes this semester are Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Programming, Software Applications, IT Applications and College Composition, which is a terrifying amount of programming in case you're keeping score. There was supposed to be a math class in there, but all the math classes I'm qualified for have been filled, so that'll have to wait until next semester. :|

There IS good news though, I scored well enough on the accuplacer to get into College Math I! I thought I'd have to take remedial math but that's not the case ... I just didn't score well enough to get into College Math II, which is a requirement for anyone wishing to study Application & Game Design, which I may or may not be going for. Once i get that math class out of the way I'll be able to pick a science class; I really want to do Astronomy & Space or Applied Physics (or both if I can manage it...) because those sound like fun. Also, they're really the only science classes that interest me since the others are health science, biology and chemistry-based. And chemistry blows ...

...stuff up on a regular basis and I'd rather not lose any extremities in a lab accident. *rimshot*

Seriously though, chemistry does blow: AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS.

The head of the computer technology department left me with a good first impression, hopefully it's accurate. I guess I'll find out, since she teaches all of the software and programming-related classes.

Maybe ask Red about it? Last time we skyped, he mentioned that he repairs cracked iPads all the time, apparently their screens aren't very difficult to replace. Granted, the procedure for replacing iPhone screens may not be the same. But he may be able to point you in the right direction.

If you can get in contact with him, that is. He hasn't been on Skype in a month or so :\

So, doing further research into my trip. The price has gone up slightly, so I might have to act quickly on this to make sure it doesn't get too expensive. Also, trying to avoid return flights where I get home too quickly; which, getting home at the time I want is going to make things expensive :\

Still going to make it happen somehow, but I want to get the most I can out of my time instead of having to super-stuff one day and spend the other two just getting to Kari and back home (Maybe I should consider leaving on a late flight on Monday and come in overnight?)

Chocofreak13

yeah, my mum suggested you stay at least 4 days. you're coming all the way here, after all.

red isn't even in my contacts anymore so i can't contact him. we never talk on facebook so i'm not gonna try there. >>;

to make matters worse i'm getting conflicting reports on what to do here, since the digitizer and LCD are fine, it's just the glass that's broken.

oh, and my tooth hurts. >>;

Mmm :[

So, further research has lead to the discovery I won't save money with a travel agency...if I stick to one airline. I found that if I use an agency to book flights with different airlines (One for going up there, and a different one for returning home), it'll save me about $100 compared to booking through the airline directly and flying with them both ways. So, although I'll have to pay for a checked bag with one of them ($25), I'll go for that once I have these bills knocked out :3

Also, since parking seems to run $8 a day, I might just bribe someone into dropping me off and picking me up on the home end -w-;

Chocofreak13

maybe you could rope your sister in. she seems to be the most agreeable one in your family. :\

Nichi

Seems like an idea, if she's confident her truck could make the drive or would like to borrow my car -w-

Chocofreak13

borrowing the spirit seems like a wise idea here. :3

WHAT UP BROS.
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

Nichi

Not much. Frustrated with my sister for wasting my time and gas today :\

I was going to meet her at her house after I got some gas and breakfast...and then once I drive out to her house, she's not there, so I have to waste more gas driving back home just to get a decent signal with my phone so I could call her up only to find out she decided she wanted to go to Wal-Mart after all >_>;
