TIL my brother is a gun-and-knife-nut, he's worked with air guns for years now but he's started doing target practice with "real" guns and is getting a pistol of his own tomorrow. We checked out his collection of knives, the revolver he's been using at the range and some of the rifle accessories he's accumulated, gave me tips on picking weapons of my own and offered to let me borrow one of his air-rifles because I want to get back into marksmanship. FUCK YEAH NEW HAMPSHIRE FAMILY BONDING.

Also I picked up a PL/I manual at the used book store because I discovered a long-lost gift certificate to the place and I kinda wanted that manual since it could be useful if I end up with an emulated Multics installation. *knock on wood*

Also also I may've found the salon I'm going to get my hair cut at ... the stylists seemed willing to do "unusual" hairstyles and it was reasonably priced ($22 for a haircut, about $10 less than the "cool" salon in Plymouth).

@Choco: Don't worry, it just hasn't sank in as of yet. Probably going to be more enthused when I go to orientation and receive my student ID.
Also, Triple Baka was the first song of Hatsune Miku I ever saw way back years ago (I think it was 2007/2008) so seeing after such a long time is nice!

I'm not fond of gemstones in general (or rather the idea of spending lots of money on little trinkets), but I can name at least a half-dozen that I kind more interesting-looking than diamond. Heck, garnets, opals and quartz-based jewels are my favorite gemstones - I'd much rather be given one of them than a diamond. -w-

@bella: i prefer coloured gemstones. with that in mind i do like SOME diamonds, such as chocolate diamonds and champagne diamonds, but straight-up diamonds that disappear in water are kinda boring, imo. i don't get why women go gaga over something that looks the same as lead crystal. :\
