I don't think it's that good of an idea, as most of us aren't comfortable with talking about our naughty dreams on a public forum, or have them so infrequently it doesn't make much of a difference :\

On a different note, mom is annoying me again today. She keeps harassing me about if I've filed my taxes yet, when I know 101% that I'm going to owe again and at the moment I do not have the money to pay it, plus I still have to somehow pay car insurance when my checks are literally nonexistent thanks to my hours being cut for no reason. She keeps telling me to do it by paper to see how much I'll owe, when I have no idea how >_<;;

I already hate tax season with a burning passion; I don't need her making things worse when I know she won't make any effort to help me pay what I owe

Well yeah except teen is more accurate.

I'm an adult.

@Pent: You can select that you pay out more in taxes on the W-2 so at the end you get a refund.
Next time around.

Actually, it was that the workforce didn't deduct taxes at all from my unemployment pay; as you have to request they do something that every other business does automatically >_>;

In previous years, it was that my W-4 (Or some other form) was filled out incorrectly. I'm hoping the fact I had it fixed when I left the hospital, and set it up the same way when I started at Pizza Hut, will mean I won't owe as much as I'm afraid of

today I had lunch at PF Changs and it was covered. Shit yeah.

As a non-American: could somebody please explain to me what a W-2 or W-4 is?

Nichi

A W-2 is a tax form you receive from your employer in January; showing how much money you made in the previous year, how much was taken out for tax, and other info you'd need to file your taxes.

A W-4 is a form you fill out when you're first hired at an employer; so make sure they deduct the correct amount of taxes from your paychecks

Hope that clears it up :3

then I'll ask where are you from...?

As for taxes... I'm not yet subscribed in the active workforce since all my jobs have been eventual or family owned, hence I don't pay taxes... but my income fluctuates between US$ 30.76 to US$ 38.46 a week...

@taxes: i wouldn't say age is a sole qualifier in knowing about taxes. i knew taxes sucked and were stressful even when i was young. but then, our lives revolve around money, so i suppose that's why.
@leaf: no, no she's not. to be hounded about something you already know about is both annoying and stressful. i speak from experience as my dad is a douchefag and feels he needs to explain every. little. detail. about everything he says to EVERYONE like the world is 5 and he's an abusive day-care teacher. sorry for ranting, but it's true; his mother is a pain in the ass the way my father is to me. pent knows he has to file, and asking the son whom you kept out of public school to 'do it on paper' when he has little to no knowledge of the subject is, frankly, dumbassery in action.
the only reason i know how to file a 1040EZ is because i took a class on it in high school.

@pizza: damn that sounds good right about now. dinner is going to be a fresh slice of hell.

yup. taxes are stressfull... as an accounting without license (Money and I still Missed two classes) I must say that also are fascinating... I remember vividly what my Last taxes Professor told us in school: taxes Is not about the ammount, but knowing well what ever gets classified in a certain tax...

kinda like my dad... or my grand dad or... you get the drift... they know everything in the world, and will tell you time and time again the proper way to do things...
