well, we're without power and internet. currently typing from the iphone. will report in when it's back. in the meantime, we have pizza and cereal, but no stove means no soup. mum is heading back to my grandparent's, and several limbs have fallen off of trees, and a couple have fallen down.(pent, that sound i heard was an ash tree uprooting itself and falling onto the burn pile and the property line.)
@bella: hope you're stocked.

@sleepy: holy crap. well, living in california, you must be used to it.

on a happier note, i hope people are thinking about that app i posted. :3

power and cable are back. surprised about the cable, since the power was on via the generator when i posted that, but the cable wasn't. tbh i don't expect it to last, but at least it is for now. :\

Panic/anarchy/desperation set in about 5 minutes after the power went out here. It came back on... maybe an hour and a half later? It's still flickering on occasion though.

Well, ignoring my pointless complaining over a free OS...which I moved over to the apporpriate thread

I can report that Kari is doing fine. I just texted her to figure out why she disappeared from Skype last night, and it seems her internet is out once again; with no idea when it'll be back up. But, she's safe, which is the important thing :3

lol, i kid. but seriously, power and internet are back online. ^^ happened much more quietly than when it went out. (finally, my sister will stop bitching! ^^; ) i really thought sandy was gonna pack more of a punch. but i suppose that's because she had lost some of her steam as she came here. seems that there's 8 million people without power still (yay, we're no longer a statistic!), i think about 48 people in NYC are dead, manhattan is basically completely offline, and the subway system there may be permanently damaged due to the flooding (it's currently offline).

glad to be back and safe, everyone ^^

@bella: my regards to stew. hope he's alright, and remember: snow can be an effective refrigerator. we've done it here before.
