My elementary school had Apple IIe's... There was one or two real PC's that I installed my own copy of Commander Keen on though!

The only IT class I've ever taken was the typing class in High School...
I failed it because I don't use "the home row" method...  I ams use my own awesome typing configuration :p

I wish I was born >y2k :(  Seems more fun

@sleepy - Choco said we are programming friends now! :p

Edit:

Random memory!  My algebra teacher in High School flipped her lid when I opened Notepad on a PC running Windows ME and it crashed...  I almost got annoyed when she noted that "computers don't crash unless you tried to install a virus or cheat"...  :p

She was 4realz, sent me to the principal's office for it!

YAAAY, PROGRAMMING FRIENDS.

come to think of it, i think i used a windows 3.1 once, but i can't prove if it was 3.1 or 95 (pretty sure it was the former). >w<

Sounds a lot like myself.

As for OS oldness, oldest OS I've personally used from what I can gather is System 6.

I swear I used a Powerbook with a trackball for a mouse though when I was very little.

Macs have been my first computer, and I've been using them ever since, starting with System 7.5. Though I wish I had been born years earlier so I could have grown up in the diverse world of home computers of the 80's. The first time I ever used Windows was at a babysitter's house. It was probably 95 that was the first Windows OS I used.

@Krizo: Your new signature reminded me that the 10th anniversary of OSX is tomorrow! I just started working on a Cheetah-tan sketch, which I hope to finish tomorrow.

the potential 3.1 is my uncle's, so i should just ask him. :\

i wish they'd import the famicom. >w<

Sudden desire to play Aliens Ate My Babysitter...

Need to make a proper DOS computer soon!

I have an awesome box with two Pentium Pro's in it, and something like 512 MB of 72-pin memory
The BIOS glitches out counting past 128...  I don't know why it works, or why I have that much RAM in it, but IT WORKS
But isn't suitable :(

Dang :/

I used to have a Windows 3.1/DOS machine, but it didn't have very many decent games on it.  Loved playing PT Boats and Hellcats of the Pacific on my Dad's Mac, plus Oregon Trail at school.  Fuck Number Munchers though.

I vaguely remember typing classes... it involved 5.25'' floppies. Then later the not-so-floppy floppy. Then... I don't think we had typing classes anymore.  Funny, I remember using macs back in grade/middle school, but never really got used to them.  Regardless, my first was a... I'm not sure what that was. lol it involved 5.25'' floppies and I was 3 or 4 years old. haha It was a hand-me-down, I think.

The first computer my parents bought themselves was some Win 3.1 machine... didn't upgrade til Win 98SE... And around the transition to 2k/XP (and 56k to DSL) did I really "discover" for myself the wonders of computers. Call me a late bloomer. heh So when it comes to a lot of the older stuff I'm rather clueless. Same with gaming. Parents never let me play videogames until I got a playstation not long before the ps2 came out. haha

sleepy, you should stick around this time, since besides you, svx is our only real programmer, and he's drunk. :\
I guess it's a good thing I don't drink very much? haha

My Ah! My Goddess DVDs are at 1024x576 resolution.  That's not standard def, that's more like enhanced def.  I dunno how the hell they'd display properly on a normal TV and DVD player.
