Okee. I guess dealing with Vista would be like doing our work on that weird teletyper (with Win59!)

Red-Machine

Well, I finally got around to building the legacy PC I always wanted, thanks to the kind donation of some much needed parts by my new boss.

Cruz Personal Computer case
Intel Pentium III 800MHz
256MB RAM
Gigabyte GA-6VX7-4X motherboard
VIA Apollo Pro chipset
64MB nVidia GeForce2 MX400
Creative Sound Blaster Live! Value
High-speed 48x CD-ROM drive
DVD-ROM drive
iOmega USB CD Writer
30GB IBM Deathstar HDD

After two days of trying and failing to install a stable OS, I decided to run the IBM HDD health test just in case the Deathstar had failed like it's bretheren, but it came back green.  Then on a whim, I decided to test the memory, too and gave up after more then 25,000 memory errors...  Culprit found.  So I replaced the module and everything has been ship-shape.  At the minute, she has Secchan installed, but I may upgrade to ME when I get the copy I ordered for my birthday.  I also upgraded the Deathstar's firmware, so now it sounds more like a hard drive and less like a chainsaw...  It should also stop it from killing itself, too.

Using Ubuntu now, don't think I'll go back.

Smokey

Still using Vista, will install 7 when it launches, and i have also set aside space for a Linux, OSX 10.the-one-that-launches-along-with-7 and ChromeOS... ^_^

I'll wait for the final RTM release to be leaked, then install that on both DELTA and LAMBDA. Hopefully I'll keep it, too ^^;
