I see a Yuki and a Haruhi :D

My only critique it's that there are lines that are too curve. Like where the sleeve ends and the hand bends in Viru-tan left arm.

But anyway, good job :D

C-Chan

Haha!  Well Haruhi is to be expected since Viru-tan always kinda reminded me of her and I used a pose of her (with some modification, of course) for reference.  Oh, and I did keep the eye style since I love it very much (I used it before with the Coco-tan Wiki avatar).

BeOS-tan, though, was completely drawn from scratch, so any similarity with Yuki-chan is the fault of the original artist.  ^v^

Oh, and thanks Mr. Darknight.  -v-

C-Chan

BTW, calling all creative minds!!  ^v^

*rings bell*

Within the next couple of weeks, I will need to take up another side-commission which focuses on making App-tans for the OpenOffice Suite.  ^__^

In other words, I need to create the following:

OO Writer-tan
OO Calc-tan
OO Impress-tan
OO Base-tan
OO Draw-tan
OO Math-tan

I have some preliminary ideas, but I reckon I'd check with y'all first in case you got something better.  ^^

Bella

BeOS and Viru-tan are too cute! Especially BeOS-tan!!!!

Ironically, I always thought that ArchLinux-tan's attitude would be like Yuki XD

NejinOniwa

I might get some ideas, if you allow me a 10-minute brainstorming session...

Yah, that's STORMY, yanow. -w-
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

C-Chan

*posts picture up with last ounce of strength...*  X__X

Done with Viru-sama at least!  XvX

*collapses*

Unbelievably busy lately, so I know I still have a lot to respond here,... and even in +Nijiura+ now....  -.-;
In fact, it's due to said time constraints that I'm forced to leave the girls flat-shaded, although I think it doesn't look that bad as it could've been.  ^^

Now then,.... sleep!  ^0^

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz  -___-

Icelilly

C-Chan!!! *O*
She's beautiful! The eyes are my favourite. They're so pretty and shiny!! *__*

Great job!! <3 I hope to see more from you! ^____^ *hugs*

NejinOniwa

Viru-tan, I'd like to order some Salad du Piglet. Yeah, and make it with lots of C-sauce.

GOOOOORGEOUUUUUUUS!!!!
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

Bella

Too cute!

First things to strike me are the eyes, pose, and outfit. I'd say her dress is probably the most interesting you've done to date :D And lots of little things, like the low-light in her bangs and the tattoo....

And why are you on her platter heehee... You're a Linuxian, I thought you folks were (mostly) Virus-proof XD

C-Chan

Thank y'all!!  ^v^

Quickly posting up the completed BeOS-tan....

Don't mind me if I disappear for a bit, but I just have to go reply to the +Nijiura+ board first.  Hopefully won't take long, since there's oodles of stuff to reply to here.... -.-

*runs off*

Bella

^_^

Too cute, again! And I should also mention, I think they look good flat-shaded....

I wonder what she's writing...?

Aurora Borealis

On the slip that BeOS-tan is writing, I can decipher "Party of 25" and "C-Chan special"

Ehehehe...I don't think a small pig will be enough to serve 25 people! ^^;

Tsubashi

Kawaii!!!
Way to go senpai, those uniforms are adorable!
though I'm rather curious to hear what caused this one. ^-^

As for what she's writing, I've been puzzling over that since the sketch was released. I agree with the "Party of 25" and "C-Chan special" but I also think I spy a "+Nijiura+" and some sort of a name (Noote-san?)
Could be wrong though ^.^

Darknight_88

Very nice :)

As always...not really a lot that I can comment, aside that it looks great >_>
Well, maybe one thing: you blurred the Viru-tan lineart in the final version (the one @ nijiura.com), right? or changed opacity? anyway, It looks better like that

Good job  ;010

C-Chan

*squeals with joy*

Thank you, minna-san!  ^v^

In the end, I did add a definitive skirt to the uniform, since all that cyan blue kinda looked dull after a while.  Also got tired of the cyan blue as well, so changed them a shade of green.   ^___^

Half the uniform is based off a pic I found on Google of a cute Anime waitress, so in the even it looks strangely familiar (much like the Haruhi references), that would explain it.  ^^

*hugs Lilly-san back and squeals*  ^___^

Yeah!  Lilly-san, huggies!!!!!! ^v^
Yeah, I love the Haruhi-style eyes, and used them twice before (one with Coco-tan, the other on that Pu-chan pic, although it was already a collage).

Something about the eye style looks deep and rich, so I might be using it more often going forward.  ^___^

Memo to self.... dispense many beating to the Nej.... -v-

You think so?  I kinda though Amiga's 1985 Commodore uniform was my most interesting get-up.  ^__^
But thank you though.  ^.^

And yes, flat-shading in Inkscape can still beneft a lot from just a small smattering of blur effects.  As you study the image, you can probably figure out how that particular style of highlighting can be reproduced in Inkscape,... otherwise, that is something I'll cover in a later chapter.  ^.^

Sorry,... I'm a sucker for pretty tall gals and get myself in trouble thusly.... ^__^
Not that she's tall, mind you, but,... well,... I just happen to be a very small pig..... ^^;

*staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaares lovingly at Viru-sama*  *v*

If you do it European-appetizer style, you can!  ^v^

Oh wait, what am I sayin'?  O___o

QuoteKawaii!!!

Thank you Tsubashi-dono.  ^.^

Quotethough I'm rather curious to hear what caused this one. ^-^

Oh didn't ya know?  C-chan can get easily pulled away from schedule projects, hence the reason I can never get them done.  ^________^

In this case, something came up that required making a very nice present to a very important person.  -v-

All the rest is Alfamille's fault.  ^v^

*points at Alfamille*

Correct,... sorta.  ^__^'

I tried to write "+にじうã,‰ï¼‹ã€€ã®ã€€ãƒœã,»ã•ã,"" or what I hoped would mean "BOSE-san (aka, BOSE-kun) of +Nijiura+".
But not sure if that's grammatically correct anymore,... given the past couple of days of trying to cram in Japanese vocabulary and grammar, I think it might be wrong.  ^^;

In any event, that's the name BeOS-tan reserved the 25 seatings for (and the appetizer)... ^.^

QuoteVery nice

Ah, thank you Darknight.  ^__^

Yeah, almost forgot....

[warning, HUGE!!]

Yes, Inkscape vector lines are razor sharp, so they tend to render with jaggies every time they get converted into a bitmap format.  Thanks to blurring effects, you can also smooth out the lines a bit,... but it's far more efficient to just export the image into a HUGE bitmap, open up GIMP/Krita, apply a nice little blur on the whole image, then shrink it done to a smaller but still huge size.  ^.^

That acts as a kind of "anti-aliasing" that really does help out the lines.  ^^

Oh and yes, I did add a few more touch-ups to Viru-tan,... I worked on her on my old laptop, so it wasn't until I switched to my desktop that I noticed the colors were......... off......... a bit.  ^^;
