QuoteCorrect,... she is UNIX-sama's mother. ^__^

I know this is a bit late to ask about, but I thought I once remembered you saying she wasn't Unix-sama's mother (or am I recalling a different OS-tan discussion...? I forget ;) )

QuoteNot sure what you mean by that, but okay. ^v^
Like her system, her personality if fairly complex. Plenty of room for her to be your worst enemy, or the kindest and most loyal person you'll ever know. ^^

Yeah, I thought something a little like that...

QuoteToo conservative!!! More, MORE ambition I SAY! ^0^

*C-chan goes mad with power*

More LACE!
More billowing!!!
More FLOWING STUFF THINGIES!!!!!!
MORE MODERN TWISTS AND TURNS AND TUSSLES AND TONGUETWISTERS!!!!!!!! ^V^
BASUGASUBASUBASU BASUGASUBAKUHAKU GASUBAKUHAKUHAKU!!!!!!!!!! ^0^

....

Oh what the hell, I'll let the pictures do the suggesting... ^^

Trust me, when you see the dress I'm going to do....

And who is that in the picture...I kinda recognize the character from some fanart of DeviantArt....

Quote*C-chan enters clueless mode*
Oh,... is that one of your Cable TV thingies again? '_'

Correction, it's a network TV thingy! And probably the greatest (or at least my favorite) TV network drama of all times!

Kinda confusing to a new viewer, though...it has flash/backs/forwards/into different dimensions/times/etc...XD

QuoteYep. ^__^
Though it may not look it, UNIX-sama does secretly harbor a certain inferiority complex. In her mind, she's far duller and uglier than her mother ever was, and dresses/acts accordingly. If not for the fact that her personality has long since been set in stone (more like metal), she'd be a girl in desperate need of some therapy.

Not that she would be the first (or last) rich industrialist to have psychological issues. ^___^'

But thats why we love her ^_^

QuoteAwww.... i was kinda hoping you'd be angry and indignant by this. '__'
But I guess it does accentuate the horror of the moment.

Ooopsie...bad quoting on my part...I mean to say, I approve of her being winged.

I have a fondness for flowing, feathered OS-tans :)

Plus it could work as a throwback to Unix-sama's owl anthropomorphism...

Although, I wonder if she'd be better with dark wings, or light ones...

QuoteWith UNIX-sama, I wanted to add a different twist to this -- yes, she uncovers a hidden power, but rather than being grossly SUPERIOR to MULTICS-sama's, it's actually grossly INFERIOR. Baser, primal, primitive -- no need for Science or Sorcery, "Just Keep it Simple, Stupid".

Ooohoohoo...New Jersey Style...again, why I like her :D

Who in their wildest dreams would think that Worse could be Better?

They must have done something right, as Unix (and some Linux) developers are still (in one way or another) trying to use this concept of simplicity and smallness to this day.

QuoteI felt very sad writing this too, not just for MULTICS-sama, but also for UNIX-sama as well. I'm sure you realize now why UNIX-sama is the way she is. She doesn't think lowly of herself just for the sake of some false modesty, but rather because she's had to live (for 40 years) with the memory of doing something unbelievably horrible -- sinful, even. They were both at fault (MULTICS-sama certainly had the power and influence to suggest a kind of power-sharing, but never did so), if only because the two were blindly loyal to the companies they represented. MULTICS lost a daughter and her power, and UNIX lost a mother and her innocence, and in the end all for naught.

Whaaa!!!

Sinful, yes...but it doesn't seem to be a totally isolated event in the history of OS-tans...

*Looks over to VMS-sama*

Sorry sister, even though NT-san did steal your genes. And maybe OS/2's genes too. And kinda battle you. And take away market share. And your forbidden to see her. Or speak of her. And this must be kept a secret. These are smaallll potatoes!!!

QuoteI imagine that the reason why UNIX-sama changed after the UNIX wars was because she felt a macabre kind of peace in the knowledge that she finally got what was coming to her.

OMG!

*Shoe! VMS-sama! Don't look at me like that!*

QuoteThat's why she's spent so much energy in there trying as best as possible to reform her crazy family, and embrace the more benevolent Linuces as her own. So far, though, her family is still in a position to repeat history. -__-

Oh, those peaceful, penguin-lovin' Linuxes...I love 'em all!

On one last Multics-sama note, d'ya suppose the Multicians (in an OS-tan world sense) are...like...a bunch former devotees trying to "summon her spirit" or something?

(just thought of this when you commented than Multics was dead as a doorknob)

And, I wonder if in later life she would have dressed more down-to-earth and worn glasses...

QuoteI know this is a bit late to ask about, but I thought I once remembered you saying she wasn't Unix-sama's mother (or am I recalling a different OS-tan discussion...? I forget  )

Probably recalling a different discussion.  ^__^

Orrrrrrrr,... was just playing along with the commonly held belief that MULTICS-sama and UNIX-sama are not related at all,... what-so-ever..... ^___^

Yessssssss............  ^.^

....

(No seriously, no one [except perhaps Mainframe-tans, who know everything] knows this and no one is supposed to know this, so I wouldn't go off tell the other Unices this.  ^.^)

QuoteTrust me, when you see the dress I'm going to do....

Let me practice some PreSwoons then.  ^___^
It is PreSwoon Season, after all!  ^v^

*SWOONGE*

QuoteAnd who is that in the picture...I kinda recognize the character from some fanart of DeviantArt....

Ah yes,... that would be Belldandy-sama from the Ah! My Goddess series.  ^___^
Surprised you haven't heard of her, although I'm not one to talk.  -v-
It was one of my favorite early Anime series (although if you compare her with Kentaro, you can probably figure out why.... -v-)

If you ever get curious, I'd recommend watching the newest TV series.  Original OVA was unfinished, the movie was ho-hum, and the spin-off Adventures of Mini-Goddess starts off well but goes nowhere fast around the middle.  TvT

QuoteCorrection, it's a network TV thingy! And probably the greatest (or at least my favorite) TV network drama of all times!

*sigh*  Yeeeeeeeeah,... I remember when I had the time and interest to watch the tele.... -v-
I don't even know why I keep one around, since all I ever watch is the Simpsons.  All my other venues are net-based, be it regular websites, net radio or streaming video.  No cable network, either home or in the states, would carry TeleSur even if you paid them too.... T.T

QuoteBut thats why we love her

Should've also thrown in that she isn't fond of people "loving" her for precisely the same reason.  -v-

Like you, though, a lot of other Linuces and Unices have grown attached to her tough love -- and even if UNIX-sama's successor will have to one day face her in a similar Mother-Daughter Stand-off, this is not the same world as before.

In UNIX-sama's time, battles between OS-tans were more like slow, measured and civil duels, where no one dared betray any semblance of emotion else it would soil their honor.  UNIX-sama, raised in isolation, was unaware of any of this when she first battle MULTICS-sama, hence their immediate incompatibility.

Now, however, everyone can fight on a similar playing field, and it can only take a purely original OS-tan to be able to raise herself above this stagnation, and break the viscious UNIX cycle of sorrow.

QuoteOoopsie...bad quoting on my part...I mean to say, I approve of her being winged.

I have a fondness for flowing, feathered OS-tans

Plus it could work as a throwback to Unix-sama's owl anthropomorphism...

Although, I wonder if she'd be better with dark wings, or light ones...

Good question.  UNIX-sama is an owl, and I really don't see any harm in making MULTICS-sama one as well since they are graceful creatures.  However, at the risk of reveling in cliches, I do believe UNIX-sama should remain as the darker, more common horned owl, while MULTICS-sama would be better inspired from a rarer snow owl:

After all, everyone assumes "light" will always vanquish "darkness", so more reason why UNIX-sama's destruction was all but considered "in the bag" at the time.

(I forgot to mention,... the battle between UNIX and MULTICS did not happen in a vacuum.  During the interim, you had a whole society against the young UNIX, not offering food or help against such a "petulent" child, and at times even hindering her progress through sabotage, poison attempts or even straight-off fights.  And this was during the course of a few years, so in many ways her youth mirrors the early hardships of Linux-sama.

QuoteWhaaa!!!

*Looks over to VMS-sama*

Fufufu.... Told you.  ^__^
I mean it's an unfair comparison since UNIX (and by default MULTICS) are much older characters, and so have had a lot of horrible experiences to live through.  That's also the reason why UNIX-sama isn't as harsh on the Windows-tans as you would think, since she finds a kind of dark humor in watching them repeat (almost verse by verse) her family's mistakes.

On the other hand, I'm still under the impression that Amiga-chan has the saddest tale of all.  Because as bad as it sounds, anyone with a steely sense of logic can make the case that UNIX-sama, VMS-sama, OS/2-san, Lisa-san, and even to an extent, Windows 2.0-chan, all did something to tempt misfortune.  Amiga-chan, however, was always a kind person and a peacemaker, and remains so even as her family remains torn apart and her chances to be open sourced have all been effectively dashed.  The kind of person you would willingly trade in your bleeding heart for a happy ending of any kind.  Sadly, that just will never be,... if for anything, because she wouldn't allow it anymore at this point.  -__-

QuoteOh, those peaceful, penguin-lovin' Linuxes...I love 'em all!

Right, well I knew Multicians existed long after I declared her a "Deceased OS-tan", so I think I kinda screwed up there.  ^^
However, I do like the idea of having a loyal cult following of some sort that tries to revive her (cause you need a HUGE following to revie an OS-tan of that complexity).  It might be interesting if a future story has them side with Plan 9-tan (a necromancer) in an effort to resurrect her for one last assault on the Unix throne.  Plan 9-tan, thinking she's handling your usual Class 9 zombie, would unwittingly have UNIX-sama's greatest weakness in her possession.  [and believe me, if such a thing would happen, UNIX-sama would be P-I-S-S-E-D!!!  >__<]

Incidentally, I forgot to say a word or two about the UNIX staff.  Indeed I think it is supposed to be MULTICS' staff -- however, the original one wielded by her is far more ornate and gawdy, so UNIX-sama simply trimmed it down to a simple rod shape and added those inscriptions later on.

None of the two really require the rod to do any sort of magic -- nevertheless, MULTICS-sama was forced to forfeit most of it to UNIX, and so could only wield less than half of her original power since then.  So yes, I think it's okay for her to slowly but surely grow more down-to-earth in her attire, especially as the beautiful and classy world she once knew becomes replaced with chaos and disorder (in her mind, anyway).

Poor Miggy :..(

QuoteRight, well I knew Multicians existed long after I declared her a "Deceased OS-tan", so I think I kinda screwed up there. ^^

I actually think that it's better this way...because, isn't it more interesting and unique to think that there's a following of Multics-sama supporters, fighting (how well I'm not sure) to keep the spirit and memory of their fallen "deity" alive ;)

Their story could potentially be as interesting (or maybe not) as Multics-sama's herself.

QuoteHowever, I do like the idea of having a loyal cult following of some sort that tries to revive her (cause you need a HUGE following to revie an OS-tan of that complexity). (very hard to look back after you get used to Anime)

I just watch it cause I appreciate a good parody.  ^__^
That's why I also used to watch Futurama and will occasinally check out some Family Guy (sometimes its funny, sometimes its disturbing).  In all instances, I still wonder for the life of me how these series manage to stay alive on FOX networks.  ^^;

QuoteAhhh, I wish they had fast internet connections around here

Ahhh sou,... you're still using THAT I see....  -.-'

QuoteI was thinking the same thing....thought I wasn't quite sure if it would fit Multics-sama...

Don't forget that these are all suggestions on my part meant to help you.  In the end, it's your time and your talent that's being used, so feel free to change details here and there.  I know, for example, that you love making OS-tans look more realistic and elegant, whereas I tend to take a more outlandish approach (e.g., giving characters hair that would be a nightmarish, little-shop-of-horrors to perm).  ^__^

Quote...Maybe they're more alike than they think

(not technically or socially, though)

Indeed, their instances are the same, but as you noted also, they're evolution to power differ dramatically.  UNIX-sama had to gain her strength the old-fashioned, proprietary way: by pillage, destruction, and rule of a strict hierarchical society with an iron fist.  Linux-sama, the most successful pioneer of Open Sourcery, is achieving the same through the proliferation of honor and pride, empowerment and independence, creativity and vision, strength through union and prioritization of the community's well-being.  That it's working is something all the old-school Unices (and even some Windows-tans) can't understand (and certainly can't tolerate).  That regular "rabble" can work together to build great things that work,... seems almost like fairy tales and magic to them.

QuoteHeeee!

*waves*

*Bon voyage, Windows-tans*

(you made a powerful enemy by discontinuing XP! LOL!)

Well they haven't gotten rid of her yet.  ^__^

However, I have been receiving a surge of complaints from my Windows-using friends that their systems have been acting funny since the most recent auto-updates.  Immediately, my conspirational mind begins to wonder if the forced migration to Vista is finally shifting to fourth gear.  ^^;

Sucks for them, though, since a good number of them have expressed interest in this... "Linux thing".  The fact that I carry a whole CD case full of them -- with paper CD slips to boot -- and can do a quick demo right there at work, helps a lot with marketing efforts.  ^.^

QuoteI actually think that it's better this way...because, isn't it more interesting and unique to think that there's a following of Multics-sama supporters, fighting (how well I'm not sure) to keep the spirit and memory of their fallen "deity" alive

Since it's the more dramatical approach, I'm gonna have to agree with you by default.  ^___^
Fufufu.... Drama King here.... ^.^

QuoteHeehee...that would make for a very darkly funny tale...

Darkly funny....?  @___@
...............Well okay,... I have tons of ways to make it not-quite-funny, but I'll leave it at that and nod politely.  ^.^'

Presumably in said story, there's more than one resurrected OS-tan, and quite a lot of the drama goes in the fact that CAOS-tan and AMIX-tan are resurrected as well to fight against the living Amigoids.  Somewhere in the story, AMIX-tan self-sacrifices to save them (thankfully, not before some last words from Amiga-san, who never had a chance to thank her before for her friendship), but CAOS-tan survives long enough to regain her self-consciousness.  However, without the necromancy spell, she only has one day of animation left before she dies again -- but this Amiga-san and her family (reunited on this occasion) and all the other vintage-tans use to the greatest extent possible.

QuoteI like how you tie the two together with the staff...

C-chan leaves very little to chance.  ^__^
I want everything these girls wear to have a little bit of history to them, from the fact that Amiga-san's cap is the same one she wore as a Commodore navel cadet, to the fact that DOSkitty is a present from the DOS sisters to 3.0-sama during the golden years, to the suggestion that VMS-sama and NT-san have similar appearances.  They cease to become props and instead joing the amazing tapestry we're all weaving.  ^__^

QuoteI think that's part of the diversity...everyone has such a unique, signature style of artwork!

However, I would have never thought of half the things about Multics-sama...I just haven't done the research of it's history

Agreed, though unfortunately she's one of the few obscure OS-tans I actually went through the trouble of preconcepting (others include Z/OS and eCOS).  The reason I can't help out Aurora with OS-9-tan, for example, is that I kinda, sorta kept her out of the radar.  ;___;

QuoteUnix-sama! What cruel times! :...(

You know the medieval way I like to picture the old OS-tan history of yore.  ^^'
Actually, I figure it more approximates the Victorian era -- peace, stability and opulance at the cost of stuffy social customs and perfectly-accepted colonial-style appropriation of resources.  I think I've used mob family analogies before, but that I think applies more to the intermediate Mac years.  The old Unices probably better approximated a combination of Old Britain and Old Russia.  ^^

Quote*sighs* That's better!

Course.  ^__^
But thing is, you'd be surprised by how many people think otherwise.  Even people who you would think would benefit from it.  'o'

Yep, it's a much harder, up-hill struggle for the Linuces than it seems.  ^v^

Quote(note to all: I know it's incredibly unreasonable to think that the wave of XP would last forever; Something that good (in a non-Unix-kinda-way) cannot last...tis the way of the world!)

If it's proprietary, yepper.  ^___^

But FOSS systems CAN last forever... or at least until some developers screw up and make it worse than it used to be, in which case you'll just switch to worshipping its fork.... ^.^

QuoteNot so much because I think M$ would do that...just because I can't say I don't think they wouldn't or couldn't!

I heard somewhere else that Auto-Updates often download by themselves even if you have Auto-Update disabled.  That might be going overboard with suspicions, but it's worth a cautious eye, especially considering this is perfectly possible in Vista.  ^^;

QuoteJust when you said "Plan 9-tan, thinking she's handling your usual Class 9 zombie, would unwittingly have UNIX-sama's greatest weakness in her possession" that made me...kinda chuckle...

True true, I did say that a lot of the Userspace Gang stories would be humorous.  This one in particular, especially in lieu of that melodramatic MULTICS/UNIX battle, would be very serious.  ^^;
The details behind Plan 9-san's departure from the then UNIX family is also serious as well -- in the heat of the UNIX Wars, she essentially curses out (a rather catatonic) UNIX-sama for failing to stop the madness, and vows to be a far better leader than her mother was.  She loses a lot of hope (and sanity) trying to survive and build something great on her own (although she might be accompanied by Plan B -- I'd have to check when she was created).  But fortunately, she eventually comes across the wandering BSD trio, how agree to help her out in her mission.  Then she also has Inferno-chan, who gives her a newfound hope for the future.

Hence the silly, little mini-Dynasty is born.

Actually, I figure it more approximates the Victorian era -- peace, stability and opulance at the cost of stuffy social customs and perfectly-accepted colonial-style appropriation of resources.

That sounds about right...and another parallel, this was probably a good time for the rich and famous OS-tans, but a tough one for the lesser-known folk.

QuoteI think I've used mob family analogies before, but that I think applies more to the intermediate Mac years.

;010

QuoteThe old Unices probably better approximated a combination of Old Britain and Old Russia. ^^

Ooooh....

QuoteCourse. ^__^
But thing is, you'd be surprised by how many people think otherwise. Even people who you would think would benefit from it. 'o'

Yep, it's a much harder, up-hill struggle for the Linuces than it seems. ^v^

You mean, all the frivolous SCO and not-M$ lawsuits ;)

QuoteIf it's proprietary, yepper. ^___^

Awwww....

I can just see in ten or so years where I'll be like those vintage computer enthusiasts...

QuoteI heard somewhere else that Auto-Updates often download by themselves even if you have Auto-Update disabled

Yes, I've seen the controls for that....

It's in administrator options, I believe...under the running services section...

QuoteThe details behind Plan 9-san's departure from the then UNIX family is also serious as well -- in the heat of the UNIX Wars, she essentially curses out (a rather catatonic) UNIX-sama for failing to stop the madness, and vows to be a far better leader than her mother was.

Ah, so she was a deserter?
(I don't blame her, though ;) )

QuoteI did love that movie, btw, though it strikes me as only a handful of Hollywood movies that were actually memorable this year. ^^;

I concur :D

QuoteBut I guess Jaguar-san needs a chance too.... -v-
Your new animated GIF is very nice too. I'm guessing you used ImageReady for it? 'v'

I like Jaguar-tan, even though we don't see a lot of her...too bad, I like redheads ;)

And I did make the siggy on ImageReady; I could figure it out, until...like two days ago XD

QuoteI think I've done enough exploding for one lifetime....
So let me try more melting instead.... -v-

Tapioca?!?! I didn't know it was made out of pigs!

QuoteHmmm...OS-9 does seem more unknown that Unix or Multics at any rate...but I can see where there'd be a good amount of potential for her.

Being UNIX-like, I imagine she has a fair amount of power.  Certainly she would need it to repel frequent OSX-kun incursions.

Oh, and she would have to be in league with VMS-sama as well,... maybe not a friend, but at least a comrade-fringe-OS-tan-in-arms.  ^___^

QuoteThat sounds about right...and another parallel, this was probably a good time for the rich and famous OS-tans, but a tough one for the lesser-known folk.

Yeah, especially considering there were no such thing as "personal computers" back in those days (the small minicomputers and workstations costing more than most new cars, even by today's standards.... ^^;).  If you belonged to the lower, non-technocractic class.... TOUGH!

Go back to the fields to harvest wheat, serfs!  ^v^

QuoteYou mean, all the frivolous SCO and not-M$ lawsuits

Yeah, especially the not-M$ lawsuits.  ^^;
But that's just small fry compared to the uphill battle of,... quote-on-quote, "consumer acceptance".  ^v^;

This is an excellent (albeit dated) article that explains this point very thoroughly:

Linux is NOT Windows

QuoteAwwww....

I can just see in ten or so years where I'll be like those vintage computer enthusiasts...

Well the C64 enthusiasts jump for joy whenever they can get a DVD-drive or USB ports hooked up to their machines, or produce stuff like this:

Ah yes, she was.  Thought I put that in my Userspace Gang description.  '__'

QuoteAnd I did make the siggy on ImageReady; I could figure it out, until...like two days ago XD

In that case, excellent work Bella-san!  ^v^
Till now, there's nothing intuitive that I know of that can produce GIF files as efficiently as ImageReady (GIMP GAP is really more like a plugin).

This might change when the animation suite for Inkscape is ready,... but until then ImageReady enjoys the prestige of being one of only a handful of Wine apps.  ^.^

QuoteTapioca?!?! I didn't know it was made out of pigs!

What?!!!!!!!!  You didn't know that?!!!!!!!!!!  @o@

Woah,... in that case, you better not like ducks in case you've eaten marshmallows lately, or cows if you've feasted on movie popcorn.... ^^;

Oh, and here's a sketch I did of Multics-sama!

Nice sketch!

Actually the dress were kind of flamboyant!  ;019  Love to see that as a coloured illustration Bella!

C-Chan

You and me both.  ^__^

It's a shame Bella-san's wireless internet is a bit unstable,... probably the reason she's been in and out so much recently.  ;___;

*gnaws on forum topic to fight back Bella withdrawal*

QuoteBeing UNIX-like, I imagine she has a fair amount of power.

But she hates the Unix-sama! And I think she called her fat XD

Funny story, today I discovered that my new friend, who helped us set up the DSL, knows a bit about Linux :D

*I'll have to read that article later, though*

QuoteAh yes, she was. Thought I put that in my Userspace Gang description. '__'

Oopsie ;)

Oh yes, and here's a few drawings of the Goddess Mother Multics-sama (yeah, that's the best title I could figure out for her)

Loving Goddess...

Vengeful Goddess..

(and a really....not doing so good...Unix-sama...)

Being waited on, hand and foot, by her Multicians :D

And VMS-sama wearing her mask!

And Linux-sama for good measure ;)

Aurora Borealis

Yay! Bella returns with more absolutely beautiful work!

Multics-sama is so beautiful and majestic! ;019 Also great job showing off her vengefulness (as well as Unix-sama's struggle against her) and the dedication the Multicians have to her! And it is interesting how they still remain dedicated to Multics even though the last mainframe (or was it a server? Something like that) running it shut down years ago!

Your latest rendition of VMS-sama, I think is your finest one yet! The way you drew her and the addition of the mask capture her personality well! Very tough and mysterious and looks like she's waiting in the shadows for when the time is right to STRIKE DOWN SOME ENEMY ***!! :D

Linux-sama looks great in her new dress! And very clever usage of gradients- At a first glance, I thought she was wearing just a white swimsuit under her black dress!

C-Chan

If there's ever any doubt that Bella-sama has returned, one need only look a the pile of "win" before you.  ^___^

*MEGA SWOOOOOOOOOOOONS!*

Fufu... by any chance, was your friend surprised that you did too?

Nah that's fine.  They call a queen's mother the "Queen Mother" after all.  ^___^'

*swoons*

WOW!!  Tell me I'm not dreaming.  ^__^
To say you got the idea is almost insultingly simple.  It's almost as if you ARE MULTICS-sama, and pouring everything you got into one bold statement to the world declaring "I existed and I was important, and you'd be playing with abaci if not for me!"

QuoteVengeful Goddess..

(and a really....not doing so good...Unix-sama...)

Also like the fact that you read. You read and,... again,... you become the characters.  ^___^

Poor young UNIX-sama,... very few people now would've realized how powerless she was at the time compared to the then rivals.  ;___;

QuoteBeing waited on, hand and foot, by her Multicians

I still see two wings, so I'm guessing this was still in her prime.  If so, the background will need a "Château de Versailles" look to it.  ^___^
(Naturally, her subsequent dwellings after her fall from power become increasingly "pauper" like by comparison.)

QuoteAnd VMS-sama wearing her mask!

YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!  Told ya it'd work!!!!!  ^v^
She is looking like one migh-tey fine Hot Mama ready to unleash a Can of Whoop-Aspartame on anyone!!!!!  ^V^
Plus I think you've definitely captured the desired form of her cleaver the best in this picture -- combined with the mask, flowing hair, and the cool streamlined outfit, I agree with Aurora that this is one of VMS-sama's best depictions!!!!  ^V^

And don't worry about the mask, as she only puts that on in public.  When among friends and sharks, she takes it off (note that omission of "family" is intentional).  ^____^

QuoteAnd Linux-sama for good measure

Okay! ^___^
Admittedly, after all that swoonage, Linux-sama in an appropriately themed night gown looked more down to earth.  But it's a pleasant drawing, and I agree with Aurora-dono that your Inkscape shading is done quite masterfully, to the point it looks like you've sacrificed very little (if anything) from your Photoshop experience.  'v'

As always, please keep up your fantastic work.  ^___^
