QuoteORIC-tan: Genki and tomboyish as promised. ^__^
Maybe cause it's an 80's thing, but she looks like she came straight out of the Goonies (with a touch of Dennis the Menace with that slingshot...). ^v^'

Heehee, I didn't even really intend for that. I just thought a playful tomboy would be one to carry around a slingshot :)

QuotePippin-tan: Very cool and sexy despite the legacy of the system itself. ^.^
And the fact that you'll make her look like Generic Mac-tan is a neat way to tie the family roots. ^.^
She's bound to rekindle my interest in the so-called "worst videogame console ever".

I made her look like Mac-san because I believe I read Pippin ran on some striped down version of Macintosh...

Aurora Borealis

Yes you are correct. The Pippin did run on a modified version of the Mac OS. (System 7 if I recall correctly)

Pippin-tan looks really cool and the futuristic look suits her well! And that ORIC-tan is really funny!

And although I am extremely sick of all the iPhone hype (probably because they are so expensive and I probably never will have one),  I do very much like the iPhone-tan!

Thanks! You're very knowledgeable about Mac-tans, so it's good you like her :)

System 7, eh...? Maybe I'll add some pinstripes or something to her suit as a reference to Macintosh System 7-tan (one of my favorite classic Mac OS-tans!).

I kinda agree about the price and all...but I'd give them a couple of years. Once the initial hype wears down a bit, they'll probably have a less expensive, though perhaps with less features, version (maybe like with the different iPods...)

Greetings to all,

As you may well know, Bella-san will be leaving on her photography expedition within a few hours.  Granted this is 2007 and there are several more Wifi spots than there used to be, so we may still received word from her intermittently.  Unfortunately, this is only best case scenario, and we should get used to the fact that we may not hear from her again in a month, maybe more.

In the short time that we've known her, Bella-san has shown herself to be an active member of our community, and has not only helped further the cause of original OS-tan art, but has also encouraged other artists to do the same.  Her posts are full of wit and an open mind, and clearly she's a uniter rather than a divider when it comes to our special brand of "hot-buttno issues".  For this reason and more I can say with certainty that she will be missed, but nevertheless we wish her a fun and productive expedition.  May she spend her summer enjoyably amongst the comfort of family, friendly townsfolk and her beloved portable media.  ^^

It is often said that pictures are worth a thousand words, so rather than utter a simple 'farewell' and call it a day, it is with great pride to report that I've helped her prepare a more elaborate gift to this forum.  The strength of our forum does not come from the backing of a single person as some have suggested in the past, but rather as a collective effort of people keeping discussions alive, rolling out new ideas and motivating creative endeavors.  And if strength through unity can do wonders for a forum, than it stands to reason that a collaborative art project -- supported by a fair exchange of roles, respect for each other's strengths and weaknesses, and frequent, open dialogue -- can transcend anything that a single artist could produce....

...It was not only a pleasure to collaborate with Bella-san on this remarkable rendition of PCLOS-tan, but she also helped renew my faith in my artistic abilities and all the as-yet still unexplored creative outlets.  Clearly this fresh new perspective would not have been possible if I continued to wallow and stagnate in my deteriorating artistic mindset.  For better or for worse this has helped me decide to postpone my retirement for a bit longer,... and although I won't be able to collaborate on another project for a long while, at least I will gladly help hold the fort till that day arrives.

So from us to everyone who is reading this, thank you for all your support throughout this past year, and please never forget that through unity there is strength.  As long as we help and encourage each other, there is no reason to covet anything.

Thank you, Bella-san, and farewell my friend.  ^__^

BTW, there is a bigger version of this picture, but the file size is prohibitive.  X__X'

It's sooooooooooo incredibly beautiful! ;019 Really, I've been staring at that incredibly beautiful masterpiece of PC Linux OS-tan for at least a minute before trying to type! Also seeing it really made my day after coming home from a road trip today!

And I hope that you have a great time with your expedition, Bella!

YAY!!  Bella-san is still with us for at least a few more hours!  ^__^
Not sure where these mountains were taken from, but this is an actual, real, 100% PCLinuxOS wallpaper that I used for PCLinuxOS-tan's background.  ^.^
I figured the bright scene and high altitude could help justify the lighting and the wavy hair respectively.  ^.^

Yay, Bella-san likes her characters with nice, long, juicy legs (very CLAMP-like, I've always said), and I'm personally okay with it since it makes PCLOS-tan look nice and tall.  ^__^

Even though.....

*pouts*

...she's only a measly 173cm.....  -____-

*pouts some more*

Darn! In retrospect, I should've negotiated for a couple more centimeters....  -v-

Thank you Aurora-san.
You of course need not worry about the message, since you're already (and have always been) an uber-frequent contributor AND you also were nice enough to collaborate on a couple of things.  ^^

====================================

BTW, maybe it's a bit of wonderful coincidence that this happened right after PCLOS-san emerged, but as of this morning I FINALLy got my proprietary graphics card driver to work on PCLinuxOS!!  (turns out my card was actually a legacy one, so needed the legacy driver instead)

So now that I can officially use PCLinuxOS seamlessly on my primary machine which-no-longer-sucketh, I will be spending the next couple of days transitioning my entire operation into it.

So from this point forward, I am now officially a PCLinusOS user in mind, body and -tan.  ^_____^

-_- art thread or no, We have mentioned that pictures should at least be able to fit compleatly on the screen at one time.  I have to scroll several times to see it all.  please resize and link to full view if you want to keep the integrity of the original.  -_- I mean if I posted the original of my photoshop example you complain about me waving around, it would be HUGE. like HUEG AS XBOX >_<  its 3000+ pixels on one side.

Tell you what, you make it fit on my screen (and then persumably everyone else who visits) and ill sit here and to a wonderfuly swoonful admiration. deal?  good.
