i was hoping to make this as my desktop background, any idea how?

I'm assuming Windows XP?

Right click on the desktop and bring up 'properties'
Click on 'Desktop'
Click 'Customize Desktop'
Click 'Web'
Click 'New'
Select desired file
Click 'Ok' x 2
Maximize the window.

This, of course, requires that you have the flash plugin installed.
Technically, it's not a true 'desktop background' but it works
