Aaaha! I figured out how to get files to and from SAM Linux.

A simple CompactFlash card!

So, without further ado, some pix of SAM (though I have no Skydome ones, since I can't figure out how to do the screenshot with Beryl; these were taken with the GIMP)

Showing off zooming dock and window transparency:

Transparencies and window previews (a la Vista):

Expose like window views:

But these pix do Beryl no justice. It's one of those things you actually have to see in action...

Fufu!  MacOSX is ultimate Win.  ^__^

However....

YAY!!!  Fabulous!!! Wonderful!!!  Bella-san ROCKS!!  ^V^

Oh, and didn't realize you had a CF card.  In that case, hell yeah, that would work perfectly!  (some even prefer them to USB flash drives)  ^___^

As for how to take pictures of Beryl in mid rotation.....  -v-

STEP 1:  Right-click on the Task Bar and select "Add New Item"
STEP 2:  In the list of panel applets, select the one that says Screenshot.  A little camera will appear in the taskbar.
STEP 3:  Rick-click on the camera icon and select Properties.  Here you'll be able to change the Screenshot delay to something which will give you plenty of time to set up the shot.  (5 seconds is good)
STEP 4:  Close the Properties windows.
STEP 5:  Left-click on the Camera icon to start the screenshot.
STEP 6:  Position your Beryl desktop to where you want it and hold for 5 seconds.
STEP  7:  DONE!!  A pop-up window will ask you where you want to save the screenshot.  ^.^

Bella

Thanks! I'll have to try that!

Here are some pix (though I STILL couldn't get it in Skydome mode, it came out really weird and fragmented...)

The closest I could get to a pic of Skydome (anyone who can guess what TV show the background is a reference to gets a huge piece of cake XD):

Something more colorful and widgety:

Beautiful wallpaper representing the four season.  AND YES!!! You found my favorite widget!!  ^-^

Yep, Bella-san has been having fuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnn....!  ^.^

QuoteTransparencies:

Yep, and at the simple click of the scroll wheel button too!  ^.^
Next up I guess you'll want to try the 3-dimensional window pop-ups and the water effects (which are REALLY a beautiful waste of resources,).  -v-;
You might want to try getting rid of that cap too so you can have a better view of the SkyDome (not to mention that it's still showing PCLinuxOS).  ^^;

Now the multi-million US dollar that everyone has been DYING to ask ya!  ^___^

Have you tried Frozen Bubble yet?  ^-^

Also, Tsubashi-san has confirmed that you DO have access to GParted (in the Systems folder), so just out of simple curiosity, I recommend firing it up and identifying what kind of filesystem your USB HD uses.  ^____^

Here's as good a pic as I could get of Skydome in action:

Hmmm...I've been trying to find out how to make the windows 3D...I've found the 3D "control panel" in the Beryl properties...but nothing happens.

After I'm done writing ;)

Hmmm,... well you told me the effect was funktified, but I think it looks kinda cool like that all warped and such.  ^.^

In fact, I'm more disappointed in the Skydome.  T__T
All you have is a gradient,... I thought you'd load up some cool panaroma shot of a New Hampshire mountain range or something.  ^___^

*C-chan deflates*

I suppose to get you started.... -v-

[whispering] Click checkbox on Visual Effects > 3D Effects  ^^'
Hopefully that's not what you're referring too -- if so, don't forget that the 3D windows won't actual pop-out until you rotate.  ^.^
(FYI, you might want to tone down the depth a bit to speed up the animation).  -v-'

XD It's a TV show:

One of those shows that's really confusing if you don't see the first episode or have an interest in mystery/action/adventure/sci-fi stuff lol.

If you have Bryce or Vue, apparently they make it easy to produce panoramic images of the correct dimensions.  I'm saying this cause the overwhelming majority of those themes available for download are obviously generated from Bryce and Vue (and maybe Terragen).

AWESOME BLOSSOM!!!  I thought you'd like it!  ^v^

*does Snoopy dance*

The multiplayer version, however, looks mind-blowing.  @.@
Definitely worth a trial later down the line.  ^__^

FYI, yesterday I tried out SAM Linux 2007 TR1, which is the first test release for the next version of SAM.  Aside from a slight graphical overhaul, the version introduces (among other things) brand new OSX-like widgets, uber-extra language support, and some new games to replace the less-exciting ones.  System stability is suspect, though, so I'd recommend waiting towards a better Test Release to try out.  ^__^
