Ah fine. Scurry through this and you'll find it. The guy making them posts a few for each episode, i think.

Added after 6 minutes:

They're on page 9, 11, and forward, btw. Also accompanied by HOARDS of Lucky pictures.

*Looks at screenshot in C-Chan's last post* That's... Macintosh System 1! :D

NejinOniwa

Actually, I do believe I have a VERY old mac laptop lying somewhere...might be System 1 or something like that. Looks quite like it.

Aurora Borealis

Well...The first Mac laptops ran System 6 (that is if the Mac Portable, weighing at 17 lbs counts as a laptop!) or 7  and on a B/W Mac, System 7 and below do look a lot like System 1!

NejinOniwa

I'll give it a check. If i can find it ^^

That Kagami GIF is incomprehensibly C-U-T-E!!!  @___@
I'm gonna need a full dose of insulin after seeing that.  ^__^

Anyway, time to post desktops again.  ^.^

Here's my new and improved Xubuntu-tan, with the Beryl 3D Windows Manager, plus Saseko-san running Poser inside a QEMU session.  Perhaps not the fastest way to run legacy apps (Wine is likely better), but then there aren't that many Windows apps I have left to miss.... ^___^

Oh and I dare say,... Who will win?

Linux-sama or VMS-sama?  @.@

Bella

You've made a Windows user really envious right now O___O "I'm coming Linux...!!!"

C-Chan

Oh come now, if the Linux purists caught word that I wooed you over with just Beryl, they'd crucify me.  ^^;

For one thing it is still int he alpha phase,... and while it doesn't stop it from being jaw-droppingly stable, it does hiccup on some distros not designed for it.  Compiz is better in stability, but is FAR more boring.  ^.^

In any event, I won't encourage you to ditch Windows ever, cause Linux is more about choices than about Operating System.  The Linux mentality means that you're free and willing to use as many Oses as you want, however you want them, whenever you want them, just like how I kept XP as a boot option AND also virtualized it on my Xubuntu desktop.  ^__^

The benefit to dual booting is that, if Windows ever goes done, you'll at least have another system to go online, process your work AND repair your Windows installation (or at least evacuate any files you want saved).

But even without dual-booting, the one thing I know you would LOVE about Linux is that the majority of the major distros now have LiveCD (or LiveUSB stick) options, meaning you can run a distros entirely from RAM disk without ever installing a thing on your hard drive.

This both serves as a way to "try before you buy" so to speak (to see if the distros is right for you, or if all the hardware is working properly), and it also serves as a fully-featured rescue CD.  Heck, I used one to browse the web, draw in inkscape, and right some C programming applets while it was busy repartitioning my entire hard drive!  ^v^

So yes, I hope all those offer much better and more exciting reasons to join.  ^___^

Since you're fresh off XP, I have to recommend PCLinuxOS 2007 as your best bet to kindly introduce you to the world of Linux.  It's user-friendly AND gorgeous, and has support for 3D desktop effects too.  ^__^

But that's only if your machine is 32-bit; if 64-bit, then MEPIS or the ^Buntu's.  ^v^

I'd recommend Minty,... but since you live in the US, you're technically not allowed to download the non-Lite version.  (You've got some screwed up copyright laws, I'm afraid to say.... ^^;)

Bella

I don't think "K8" will be running Linux soon...the old Win98 (if it runs...that's to be determined...) would be the one I'd use Linux on. I'd like to run it off of a CDR/by USB...so I'd like something that runs on RAM alone.

PCLinuxOS does sound pretty neat, though :)

BTW, would an external hard drive work in lieu of a USB stick?
