Mac OS 7.7-tan, Mac OS 8.7-tan and Macintosh System 4.4-tan; 3 'unreleased' Mac OSes!

7.7-tan is "Blade Runner"-inspired because that OS being renamed led to the killing of all Apple clones. (Replicants are like human clones, the protagonist of the movie was sent to get rid of them...)

8.7-tan is obviously a younger Mac OS 9-tan and she is cranky because 8.7 was originally 9 but was going to be changed due to a lawsuit from another company because they thought it sounded too similar to OS-9 (speaking of which, any ideas for an OS-9-tan? I know what her personality will be but I'm having problems trying to think of what she would look like)

And 4.4-tan is an eccentric girl who likes to play mind tricks on people. Or maybe she's not very good at counting! *hint hint*

I will also make a finished version of the Odyssey-tan looking at the monolith as well.

I'm not sure, either, but I do know she'd be one of those "old school" gals who's still around to this day (kinda like some of the DEC-tans). She tries to be like Unix-sama in some ways, but in fact hates Her quite a lot. She loves telling folks stuff like,

UNIX:
An operating system similar to OS-9, but with less functionality and
special features designed to soak up excess memory, disk space and CPU
time on large, expensive computers.

(^that was an easter egg in OS 9)

Huh?  That also might need some explaining.... cause wouldn't she just be like Sonata-san when she was younger?  ^^;

As for the older OS-9-tan, I've wondered myself how she would look like.  -v-;

I guess if you want to be mischievous and retrogressive, you could always make OS-9-tan look like Sonata-san, only with black or dark purple hair (a reference to her UNIX-like nature) and obviously different clothing.  And based on some of the stuff discussed here....

OS-9-tan's got a lot of guts to say that about UNIX-sama, given that EVERYONE knows what UNIX is (not exactly, but just paly with me here... ^^;), but no one but hobbyists remember OS-9.  Unless you mean Soooooonata-samaaaaaaaaaaaaaa................. BWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!  ^V^

I said those 3 new Mac-tans were 'unreleased' (note the usage of quotes) because those OSes were released to the public under some different names! These three girls are alter-egos to some existing Mac-tans!

8.7: Okay, so Mac OS 9 was originally version 9 but was going to be renamed Mac OS 8.7 because of OS-9 but that lawsuit got thrown out so Mac OS 9 got to keep its first name

7.7: Was what Mac OS 8 was originally named, but renamed to retire the remaining Apple clones (they were licenced to run up to Mac OS 7)

4.4-tan left you stumped, didn't she? The hint that she's probably not good at counting or likes to play mind tricks on people is because 4.4-tan isn't actually System 5-tan but System 6-tan! Why?

Because the pre-System 6.0.x Mac OSes had some weird-*** version numbers with the System Software and the Mac OS, and the Finder! System Software 6 was originally System 4.4 + Finder 6.1 + Multifinder 1.1. System 4.4 was changed to match the System Software version number. Oddly enough so was the Multifinder although version 1.1 was perfectly logical (In 'System 5', it was version 1.0) 0_0

And as for OS-9-tan, I saw that easter egg from Wikipedia and that was a key element to her personality as brave but also very rash. (Someone who blatantly disses Unix-sama like that must be!) And the suggestion of having her look slightly like Sonata just gave some ideas for later! And also because OS-9 is used in some TV systems, I had an idea of having her dress like a hotshot TV idol although she still wallows in obscurity to this day!

My next sketch will be a preconcept sketch of her but for now...

OS-9-tan, she's a hotshot TV idol but wallows in obscurity (OS-9 is embedded in some interactive TV sets, is a very obscure OS). She is brave but also very rash and does not think twice before doing something (reference to that easter egg in the OS-9 manual that flat out dissed Unix!). She wants to be like Unix-sama although she hates her at the same time. OS-9-tan has a slight resemblance to Sonata that is intentional because there has been confusion between OS-9 and Mac OS 9. (hehehehe...)
