Mainly, I wanted to talk about We-tan, but decided to broaden the topic to "OS-tan Variations"

I saw on Wakachan's OS Image Board (http://www.wakachan.org/os/wakaba.html) a thread about We-tan, started the 23rd of this month. It was the first I'd heard of him (or her?). I really love the concept; an inverted version of Me-tan, ha ha ^^ Pink braids, black dress... and apparently he's supposed to be male, ha ha, which just makes it all the more entertaining. Reminds you of the Mario Wario thing... Did you guys know of We-tan, Me-tan's evil twin? Or is Me-tan the evil one? xP

I would draw the line at only having 1 inverted character though (that is, stick with We-tan). It'd be horror to see every OS-tan having an evil counterpart... it'd make We-tan less cool ;____;

On other varitations, there seems to be two about equally popular versions XPHome-kun (though I've been seeing "Homeo" alot more lately). There's "Homeo", the little boy version with the key ((*points to my avatar*)) and the shirtless, greenhaired "uke" boy version.

Wonder if theres a Evil XP Tan or a Undebendable Woman 2k Tan *Thinks about that * If there is then that be interesting to see some evil os counter parts .  B)

 New for me, but...

I didn't think the there could be anything more evil then ME-tan...

I really don't want to know what makes WE-tan so evil...

But it is a very interesting concept, and one that I myself wouldn't mind seeing more of...

I always thought Me-tan was a little clutzy and got herself into trouble, but that doesn't make her evil. Ha ha, XPtan is more evil for hogging and stealing all the food! We-tan has this devious smirk look on in several pictures... that's why he seems evil xD

Ha ha, today I took some Me-tan lineart and coloured it We-tan style xD It was rather entertaining. A non-colour difference between the two is that We-tan's "Warning" triangle on her chest is upside down, and there's sometimes a question mark instead of an exclaimation.

Speaking of evils and variations, though... Longhorntan is still a very flimsy design, but I personally like the ones where she's sort of an "Evil Overlord" type, ha ha. Evil is good, I have quite an affiliation for it. The cute Longhorns don't always work for me.

I do agree there... Evil can be quite cute.

And call it what you want... clumsy, evil... in the end, the user is cursing at it

Koshi

The evil in the OS-tan "universe" is non-consistant though... well, except for the fact that usually Mac is called evil by all the Windows OS and Fans xP

FabianN

 well...

they are often dipicted evil...

I mean, they're like my little evil minions that I release to get the dirty work done...

But they can also be quite cute.

I've heard of this We-Tan, in fact, saw a picture of.... it..... scared the crap out of me quite frankly. Reminded me of a guy who came into the video store I worked at in college.

Very tall guy, around 6'8", probably 250lbs, mostly muscle... and he had on badly done lipstick and makeup, and a dress and a blonde wig.

And five o'clock shadow.

We-Tan is what I'll think of him as from now on. It gives a name to that nightmarish image that came to life so many years ago.

I'm not sure on this-correct me if I'm wrong-that We-tan is supposed to represent Windows Explorer. Hence, WE-tan.

Correct! :)

Their name sounded the same thats why they put the implication for both of them to look similarly :)

At first, I thought ME-tan and WE-tan were parallel universe counterparts! Okay, so they aren't but that sure could have been interesting!

I have only just gotten into OS-tan and understand all these little offshoots for WE and others ect ect. But ive not had time to follow them up.

Essentially, We-tan is Me's evil twin. Windows Explorer is also a piece of software that wasn't very good. Hence, we have another OS-Tan to fill the void.
