Sorry, the link leads me to a forbidden page....  ;_;

BTW, thank you.  ^__^
Hopefully mini Linux and Mini Mac don't look too  out of place.

Here ya go....

jeez, wish they didn't make it so small.  It's gonna be hard making out that kanji.  ^__^

Doesn't really look like her because of the shirt, but that could easily just be evening wear.  Other factors such as the long bluish hair and darker skin tone probably means you're right.  But if I can translate it, perhaps we can know for sure.  ^__^

Raffaele the Amigan

Here are some very early concept sketches for MorphOS-TAN!

I am at the first stage of the development sequence, so I can made all modifications "in corso d'opera" (while still at work).

Comments, suggestions, proposals and critics are welcome.

Brief description, measures, details, gadgets:

MorphOS it is based on Quark Microkernel. MOS-TAN has in her hands a "power baton" with a shining gem on top in which it is embedded a rotating 3D "Q" that stands for Quark.

Her helmet has an extruded "M" like shape on the front.

The helmet has butterfly like elements (antennae, butterfly wings) as MorphOS name came from the Morph butterfly.

Also Logo of MorphOS is a Morph Butterfly.

She wears white gloves, white boots, and the butterfly wings and the dress-suite are soft white with blue/cyan trims.

Also MOS hair is soft blue, (morph butterfly-like color).

On her breast there is a heart-shaped brooch with checkered red and white colors of Amiga, as in her heart beats Amiga-compatibility API.

Age: 17
Height: 1.70 mt.
Weight 48 Kg.
Measures: 72-56-78 in cm.

Age: 17
Height: 5.5 ft.
Weight  105,48 Lbs.
Measures: 28-22-30 in inches.

Should check more suitable measures because MorphOS runs with very poor "Memory" requirements, such as Amiga that runs in only 256 Kilobytes of memory and also MorphOS complete installation takes only 17 Megabytes on Hard Disks.

(Yes. You read it well...)  ;012  ;010  :smoke:

[More features will follow as long as they will came into mind.]

[Edit]
Seems that Devaint art has changed its policy and doesn't allow to link externally sketches from the scrapbook! What a pity. I used that feature to link an image of mine for a megatokyo contest!

So I decided to attach it directly.

here it is:

Raffaele, I'd like to view those images in their full size; but all I get is a "Forbidden" page, asserting I haven't permission to view them.  What's that all about?

As I edited previously there should be problems with deviant-art, so I am uploading it directly here as attachments.

Wow good.

Attach command in OStan does not simply attach the link and shows it apart!
It shows directly the image into the thread!

How good. It results in a continuity in reading...

Question: Am I allowed to post only one attachment per single comment, as it happens on ohter forums, or am I allowed to post multiple attachments per single comment?

To not lose time in trying to discover it, I  simplyused attachment feature once per comment.

Something, I don't know what, came over me one day recently and I signed up at deviantART.  There's no art on my page, except for "Favourites," so don't bother going there.

;014

When I was a kid, I did lots of drawing; and grown-ups (as they always do when you're a kid) kept telling me it was good.  I quit drawing a long time ago, though.

;hi

CaptBrenden

i got like 230+ some odd pics of 3.1sama to upload this weekend.. so all look out for that.

Neko-san, where is you dev art?  Ill watch you.  Like a stalker.  tho dont worry, I dont plan to make a creepy skin suit out of you or make a house out of your bones.  nothing like that oh no.

I don't have any art to share via deviantART, Captain.  Well, there's a bit of photography I could post there ââ,¬â€ and I did post a couple of web-camera photographs just for the sake of having something on the page ââ,¬â€ but I don't have a decent "real" camera anymore; and lacking a scanner (it died a couple of years ago) I'm unable to post any of my older, more worthy, photographs.

Tah Dah...

I made an early concept sketch of FreeDOS-TAN.

[Drums rumble]

[Trumpet blast]

She is a beautiful black girl representing early OS screens and green eyes representing the Prompt:!

But she is free from any elder DOS legacies!

I believe sure she is the first coloured girl into whole OS-TAN Collection.

There you go, Raffaele,... -v-
You're about as elusive as the Nintendo Wii.  `v'

Correction, that would make her the third black girl in the OS-tan Collections that I know of.  -v-

Ubuntu and OSX Panther-sama have been representing for quite some time.  ^__^

Would count eCS, but not really.  -v-

You sorta beat me to FreeDOS, I must say, but I guess that's not bad.  Can we make her younger, though?  All DOS-tans are not particularly feature-rich.  -v-

GYAARGH!

True! Ubuntu and Panther are black too!

I am only third...

I am only third...

I am only third...

Well... At least I am 3rd on the plaform...

;001

BWAAAAAH! I am only third!

Wait a moment!  ;022  Beat who? when? where?

This is just an early concept of it and it could be or could BE NOT be accepted by the community.  ;026

See ya. Must work on other projects and on MOS-TAN...

Any relation to MisterCat-san?
Cause you're posting style is the spitting image of his...  ^v^

Lemme see if I can identify...  -v-

Sorry, you officially beat me.  ^___^
No refunds or exchanges.  ^v^

Mwahaha!  ^v^

No but I have something of an unwritten rule going.... -v-
You know of course about my "crusade" as you call it.
So priority is mainly given to producing the OS-tans and not necessarily to making them better than anyone else's.

That's why, when I first drew Amiga, I spent much time and effort trying to make sure there wasn't one out already.
That way, I could both respect the efforts of the original artist AND save myself the double work of conflict resolution in the Annex.

Through unity there's strength -- and as long as artists don't do like with ME-chan and cooperate behind the same design (+/- some artistic license), then the OS-tan design will simply get lost in the shuffle.
As an example, because there are a gajillion Playstation 2-tans with no consistency whatsoever, we can't fawn over how cute PS2-chan is because we won't know which one we're talking about.  ^^

Regardless of what my preconcept design for MOSchan was, I'll happily rally behind your design to boost her standing AND to save myself some drawing time.  ^__^
(And also cause I secretly hope you'll do the same with my OS-tan designs too.)  ^___^

The only exception to this rule is Bell Labs UNIX-sama, but that's a different story altogether.  -v-

QuoteI guess it should not be a problem to change her age...

See ya. Must work on other projects and on MOS-TAN...

MOSCHAN!!!  MOSCHAN!!!!  MOSCHAN!!!!!!!  YAAAY!!!!!
WE ALL LOVE MOSCHAN AND DEMAND M0AR MOSCHAN!!!!!  ^V^

And we accidentally came up with a nickname for her, btw.  ^___^
And doesn't it sorta sound a little like "Mothra"?  @___@;

Anyway, as far as FreeDOS goes, I say "beat me to it" more out of silliness, but just cause -- according to my original schedule -- I should've drawn one by now.  -v-
But a few people got bored with chibis and coaxed me into drawing full-sized renditions.  -v-

*stares at Captain*  Ã,¬__Ã,¬

Granted, I enjoyed them, but still was said that I was so close to the end of the first chibi wave.
They are, in this succession:

-Amiga [chibi]
-ZX Spectrum
-C64 & PET
-AppleII and Apple Lisa
-PCDOS and PTSDOS
-Windows 1.0 and 2.0

Then squeezed this one during Youmicon:

-DRDOS and QDOS

Then was forced to float these two ALSO thanks to the Captain.  ^___^

*stares at Captain*  Ã,¬__Ã,¬

-AtariDOS and AtariTOS
-ROMDOS and FreeDOS

Even now, not sure when I'll get to it, but probably once I finish the Holy Trinity picture (ask the Captain about our "Holy Trinity"... Ã,¬vÃ,¬)

Based on all the DOS-tans released prior to my own (MSDOS, DOS/V, MSXDOS, etc), I conjured up a kind of rule set to follow to make all the x86 DOS-tans consistent:

    - all our child-type OS-tans (even if they're are very very old, they still look young)
    - all wear pigtails of some sort (with the exception of DOS/V, who refuses to keep them on all the time)
    - all wear glasses of some sort (even if they're contacts)
    - all wear apparel that alludes to school uniforms, although not necessarily Japanese ones (I have an interesting explanation for DOS/V on this one).  ^^;

Naturally, there's plenty of room for flexibility -- PCDOS and MSDOS, for example, may occasionally be rendered in their old dresses.  ^__^

In the case of FreeDOS, I didn't have a specific look in mind, but was leaning towards her having long hair and wearing a whale hat.
She appears sweet and almost naive, but in reality is frighteningly-observant and can almost never be surprsied from behind.

She can do anything the other DOS-tans can and often better, but is also frighteningly-modest.

She has the ability to "produce" enough food to feed 10 XP-tans, but [frighteningly-enough] cannot actually cook to save her life.

She's lovable, but awakens all sorts of suspicions that she knows far more than she lets on and may be, in fact, a "sorcerous".

[in my OS-tan world lexicon, Open Source software is known as "Open Sorcery"]

She does need to look physically different than the rest, as she's not a bonified descendant of the DOS line.
So in that sense making her black and giving her curls would make for a refreshing change of pace.
The clothing should be normalized though, not only to fit the younger age but also to avoid misunderstandings (i.e., the chains).  I understand the symbolism, but who's to say others will?  ^__^'

Jeff has a question! Raffaele, what is your dA account name? ^^

Jeff feels like watching you.

(Oh, Jeff is me. Jeff tends to speak in third person sometimes... And you're free to call me Jeff if you think SleepyD is too long to type. XD)
