@Kriz and Kari: Hahahaha, yeah, that was pretty much my reaction when I saw it at the antique store. To answer your questions: it's a stationary mouse, that ball is used to control the cursor, and the buttons are used to click (right, middle and left).

This is better than anything else that's been posted - a postcard from my sweetie~ :,)

Post from objects of affection >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> computer junk. >3>

Krizonar

I see your Dell and offer the CEO's worst nightmare

"What would I do? I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders,"

AND THEN

@Aurora, my Mac Mini is a C2D from 2007.

Red-Machine

Touche.   You've won this round, Kriz.  I don't have any all-in-ones to challenge you with anymore.

I'm of to bed, everyone.  Stayed up way too late having fun with this.  Oyasumi nasai!

@Krizo: Mine's a late 2005 model-- Wow! A Flower Power iMac?! I forgot about those, but I think they look cool! :3

Nichi

Since we seem to be in a nerd war right now...although I'm a bit late to the party

The first installation disks for both Windows 3.11 and MS-DOS 6.22 (The rest of the disks are in storage)

I tried to get a picture with me holding the boxes for 95, 98SE, ME, and 2000, but the pictures didn't turn out right; the box I had my camera on top of was too tall

Krizonar

It has been fun!

Yeah, I used my Powerbook G4 until about 2007.

And I'm not finished! I still have some more all-in-ones, albeit heavy ones.

Definition of heavy.

Nichi

@Kriz: That's actually the very first model of Mac I used. That makes me feel old...

54 pounds of classic PPC.
This is a Power Macintosh 5,400 (perhaps it was named for its weight?!?!)
Runs 7.6.1

Nichi

Actually, the one I used was a Macintosh Performa something-or-other that looks identical to that one

Since the nerd war is over, I'll return to my usual URLs instead of directly posting them

Me, holding the boxes to Windows 95 Upgrade and Windows 98SE. Also, notice the last 3 digits of the picture number, and then go listen to some Iron Maiden (Up the Irons! \m/)

Me again, holding the boxes to Windows 2000 and Windows ME. After all, 2000 + ME = Metal (Or should I say MEtal?)

@Bella: Heck yeah! System 6.0.x FTW! (that's what introduced me to retrocomputing) :D

That DEC book is so old-school! :D What kind of historical info have you found in that book?

I wish I could get a System 6 setup working in Mini vMac... but i fail at Classic Mac emulation. D:

All sorts of info, including a connection between the LINC computer and CDC, and the discovery that Whirlwind had a companion computer - called the Memory Test Computer - at MIT. As for other info... here I am reading Part II, Chapter 6, "The PDP-1"... with a Boston Accent. Since DEC history calls for it. o__o

Oh, I wish I had a performa, they made such a lovely noise on startup! My parents had one.

Anyway.
Operating Systems.

Not included in this picture is a CD of OS 9 and a floppy of OS 6.

I tried holding them, but it just wasn't gonna work out.

Nichi

I tried to get a picture of both of my Windows 2000 installation discs (The legit disc I just bought, and the CD-R my uncle made for me back in '06), but there was too much of a glare on the CD-R to read it's label...so instead, here's a picture of Sylvester I took earlier:

I like the look on his face here

Red-Machine

I wants one of those, Kriz.  I once was nearly able to get a mint in the box Performa 5200, but someone beat me to it. :\

It's not a picture I took, but it's of the same exact model of Macintosh Performa that I used when my mom worked at the local museum ages ago

I remember when I first heard that mighty boot sound, I knew that it was going to be awesome once I figured out the ins and outs of MacOS.
