Well, unless you guys have more ideas or suggestion, I pretty much finalized my 7-tan design.

Notes:
-She's supposed to be leaning against a wall.
-Her energy scythe is not active.
-Yay, I drew her feet! (They look horrible, but hey, at least I drew them :p)

I look forward to see Kiso's 7-tan now.

They don't look horrible! They look like feet (well inside boots that is ^_^)

Yeah they don't! I think the problem lies in the fact that they look just like a silhouette of the boots rather than an actual boot. Also, I think the boots need a defined sole.

TIP: Try doing the base of the model of the feet and after draw the boots on top of them so that they may look more natural. Getting the curved shape of the feet allows it to gain some depth.

Anyways, I decided to work on you drawing after seeing it (yes, I have kept away from my designs after the consecutive failures, but will get to work on 7-tan and 7-kun again). Here it is..

Hey guys... I was surfin' da' W3 and I found this image that actually has that cool factor that most of the 7 designs lack... and it just became my favorite 7-tan over the one with the orange kimono. This one aims to go the same way I intended in the first place... you know, "Vista with a new look" way I mentioned before. But... you be the judges yourselves... here...

I really got a liking to this... and is actually making me change some stuff about my thought-up design... maybe even 7-kun. that's how much I like it. However, something about the colors seem off... or maybe it's the type of clothing with the color choice... can't quite place it.

Anyways... off to bed... and maybe then start off with my final 7-tan once and for all.

I'll have to agree here... pretty damn cool. The concept actually uses some of the magical girl concept we've been throwing around and looks chivistan-inspired enough, though of course, the artist opted for a more... stripperific design. Seriously, I think they'd have to start considering GUI improvements in a "relative" rather than in an "absolute" sense soon, or the next Windows-tan won't have much to wear lol.

EDIT: And yeah I get what you mean when you say the colors are a bit off... Win 7 doesn't have such bright colors: everything's either white, light blue, or dark blue.

Hmm... I guess you're right, maybe it's the colors. That amount of blue I could actually like to see on an Azure-tan (Windows Azure, Microsoft's Cloud Computing OS)... by the way, we need one of her. lol

Anyways, I tried drawng my 7-tan... and after seeing this I could not draw anything other than her which is not a good thing in itself... I might try another route to se this through though. I guess I will have Photoshop help me out on this one... and maybe I'll throw Inkscape and Illustrator into the mix. I like what they did for this "Vistan SE" (loljoke), so I guess Iam going to play with her for a short while before getting onto my usual business.

That's great. And yeah, we need Azure-tan (even though Azure will only work on Microsoft's own servers). We also need Bing-tan and IE8-tan lol.

I personally enjoy the windows 7 tan currently in the "other" section of the picture galleries

It seems to have some of the things people have said (though some i have to look up...which is sad since i'm testing it now and don't know...)

Has the white hair idea,the ribbon...the clothes can be related to the superbar which i think should be an important feature to list,as i think many users are going to relate windows 7 to it's new task bar,since the taskbar is one of those things you tend to always notice,like the desktop

.As for the jumplists they could just be the 4 boxes of the windows icon stretching out like drawers (a bit cartoony but it's a bit cute)

anywho just felt like posting some thoughts of my own.

I'm greatly enjoying Windows 7 so far and hope to see a decided on tan soon

(at least decided somewhere....since if i recall noone really decided on vista except in their areas)

^That design is actually a Vistan but is more appropriate as a Windows 7-tan, and I like that design too.

Considering there's a copy of that picture in the Vista section and that the caption for that picture is "the Vistan the customers wanted", I'm not surprised people think it represents 7-tan well... ;012

That makes it sound all the better since Windows 7 is supposed to be the success MS wanted Vista to be,and for the most part windows 7 IS based off Vista >.> <.<.

Uh... after seeing being shipped as Vista so much... I don't want it near the other Windows 7 concepts... simply a no for me. Heck, the +Niji+ and Futaba peeps seem to think the same since basically none of them have gone and used her for 7-tan. The only exception to that was 2ch, and they only posted it once, and basically got taken over by others.

I do like it myself, though not as much as Chivistan and Chichihvistan, and I think I may have use for her in my "mess-up mash-ups", but I really won't be able to see her a nothing more than a one-shot Vistan.

Well I can say that it appeared on Futaba and Wakachan a lot. However, it was always that same one-shot (and incomplete, no full-body) image. I have to look into the Futaba Image Collector to see if I can find her there... but I am discouraged by the fact that I'd have to look in three Vista sections (yes, people there were soo eager that they filled two sections and I think the third section will fill up soon (if not eventually).

More on that, the image itself was used to bring about 7, which got instantly shot down at Wakachan via fail-n-bash... and later appearance of the actual Win7 concepts. Funny moment that was... thread got deleted though... the key reason she is hard to find as it is. This also happens at Futaba and +Nijiura+

Ah...thats a shame.It's really sad to hear that the artist never built on the idea.

Well Chivistan seems like a really nice one...i just hope that the 7-tan is a little more...umm...reserved then chivistan was.

Chivistan was a real aero fan in a lot of her pictures ^^;;

EDIT:for example...i think the picture you posted is great.,...but was the nearly slipping top necessary?
