Or bondage in the attic? Woops, belongs in the topless thread.
What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

Kiso

Well... right now I salute you peeps from what could be one of the best OSes since 2k. Damn, Windows 7 rocks. But enough of that.

Right now, I am currently on an important mission codenamed "Messing with Seven". Basically, I want to understand as much of the OS to see whether any of the existing 7-tan concepts pay any tribute to the OS besides the visually perceived stuff. The thing I gain from that? Nothing... nothing at all. In fact, who does pay attention to personalities in the doujin world?

However, I might eventually come up with yet another design, but taking more inspiration from the other existing designs.

Well... time to get back to using seven. I'll give you more ~tan-style feedback in the future. Oh, and check back in a while, I am going to post up another concept. lol

Hoo, rocks you say.
Me Delta crashing seems to have messed up the HDD some. It wouldn't boot from it, but it might have something to do with the comp i was trying to boot being somewhat half-dead itself, and the hdd evacuated into a cabinet, and thus in usb-external mode, but i dunno.

Anyway, is it worth scrapping the XP's off entirely, in favor off Miss 7?

Well... if you're from the US military and are using a computer from there... not yet as they have now made XP fully secure for their use. I am not sure how much "fully secure" really is, however. lol

Now, leaving that interesting bit of trivia aside... I am quite positive people can make the switch early, although it's always preferred to take the jump a little while later. I am actually running mine RC of the OS on a 7-year-old machine, and... as much as people might not believe me, it actually runs better than XP. Don't know how, don't know why... it JUST does. I guess this proves Microsoft was actually going for "listening to what people had to say".

So far (been using it for just afew hours), I have not encountered anything wrong, everything seem to be placed within a few clicks of reach... even more for those who had experience with Vista. Fact is, I can hardly, tell the visual difference between the two OSes, with the exception of the obvious UI changes and the extra features added to make it more of a convenience.

Guess i'll have to peek first, then...

Indeed, with Aero peek.

Er... hi guys, I'm still alive, just a little busy with university and all that stuff. I can confirm everything Kiso said. It's not just the "clean install effect": I did an unsupported upgrade from the Beta to the RC on an 80% full disk, and the OS is still way faster than a Vista clean install.

I'm working on a new 7-tan design as well, a sort of mix of Kiso's design, my design, and the original chivistan design.

NejinOniwa

THIS IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS.

You beat me to the pun-ch! lol

Well, good to know of you man... can understand what you're going through since I am a college student myself... and I have to loose my summer vacation for more studies (Tough luck for me! lol).

Anyways, your Win7 experience was actually a tad interesting note. Never expected that to happen... not to Vista clean install. Now I have more to ponder for a possible profile description of 7-tan.

Dude, I was sort of thinking that... mixing designs and stuff. I however, went through the thought of using something from an existing 7-tan, my design and chivistan. lol

I guess you can work with mixing... and let's see what we come up with.

A rough sketch of my first variation on the concept. Nothing revolutionary, but I think it's better than the old one.

Info: When working on the old concept I was always wondering about how long the coat should be, or what kind of dress I should put under it, so I thought: what if I made the coat itself a dress and put another coat over it? This way I get to keep the taskbar buttons and all the transparency without having 7-tan look too much like vistan, and at the same time I give her a "magical girl" vibe. To make that vibe stronger I gave her two hair ribbons instead of one and a magical energy scythe.
I've yet to decide the colour of her coat, though. White is nice magical-girly, while black gives her a  badass "grim-reaper" look.

What do you think? Suggestions and ideas are greatly appreciated.

NejinOniwa

I dunno about those colors, mate. That white coat more feels like a labcoat (which I personally don't mind, but I dunno about you others) while black just makes her look like just about any other girl with jeans and black coat wandering about in the darker months here up north. Seriously, sans the scythe and white hair, she'd could be just about any lass out shopping in Stockholm City in january...

Ok, then, I'll be working on the colors and the outfit. I'll see if I can make them more flashy and magical, and stuff... I already have a couple ideas.

NejinOniwa

Good, that! When I think about it, swedish winter fashion is pretty depressing... -w-;
YOU CAN WEAR ANY COLOR AS LONG AS IT'S BLACK~

Lol. Going to sleep now. Bye.

Well, have to agree with Nej there (goddam Scandinavians and their pretty girls), 7-Tan doesn't look as revolutionary as she should there...
Perhaps a Che Guevarra shirt/Mercenary/Revolutionary style?... ^_^
I dont tell you how to tell me what to do, so dont tell me how to do what you tell me to do... Bender the Great) :/

Point is, imho, that she should look special, but -not- revolutionary. The OS itself is excellent, but its just an evolution of Vista. Microsoft itself markets it as an evolution, not a revolution: the last OS they marketed as revolutionary was Vista, and, well... also, if you pay attention to the visual changes between the Beta and the RC you'll notice that they're getting rid of the light ray/aurora theme they had going in Vista and are leaning towards a more "old school" style. That's why even tough I'm working on redesigning the coat, I don't think I'll put much transparency or light effects on it: Aero is still there, but it's no longer being marketed as a selling point. The "wow" era has ended, the "get to work, and fast" era has started. :P
