Mabe it's just me but, I think it would be amusing (and appropriate) to see her with one of those retractible key rings (because of the lessening of the UAC prompts).

Yes... I am alive... just haven't been able to deal with drawing (or coming here at lot for that matter) due to intensive Photoshop Lessons... history homework and excessive hangouts with firends. But I'll be sure to give you a piece of my time to draw and maybe show you something... maybe another of those... SD drawings... lol

Well... That did not last too long. Windows 7 has a few "issues". I know it is still in Beta, but the â€œAction Centerâ€ function is really annoying. Oh, and in the beta the Administrator action shield is now blue and yellow only (the colors diagonally oppose each other).

At least all my friends liked Nukerâ€™s Tan. I think they liked it more than the OS. The Windows 7 tan needs to be very similar to Vista-tan. Windows 7 is basically Vista with a new look. The one thing I do dislike is that when applications are open, they are represented on the taskbar by an icon only. This can be changed in the taskbar properties.

One other thing, when one has multiple instances of the same application open, such as calculator, you still only have one icon on the taskbar that represents all of them. No matter how large the taskbar is, you still only get one icon. A user must move their mouse over the icon, and then a smaller window pops up directly over the icon. From there you can select one of the many open instances of the application.

Perhaps 7-tan needs to be holding a bottle of aspirin, that annoying thing gives me headaches!

Wait, are you telling me that the things you dislike about 7 are some the very same things that make it succesful? oO

(And Seven is hardly Vista with a new look. Rather it's something completely different with a Vista-ish look.)

I'm glad people like my -tan, though. ^^

Oh... and Archon... dude... I think people should be given the option of using the old taksbar style... why not suggest it? I pretty sure they would keep it there just for the sake of those conservative people who wish to go old school clicy-click on each separate window. To each his own... I won't decide which route I'll take until I test though.

Well, yes, it's nothing strictly "revolutionary". But hey, I think people shouldn't expect a revolution such as the XP/Vista one every 2 years. After all, Vista tried to be "revolutionary", and everyone could see the results. The reason 7 works so well is because it's an "evolution".

Improved GUI, (way) improved performance, partial implementation of the min-win kernel, full multi-CPU support,improved virtualisation support, boot from VHD disk images... I really wouldn't call it Vista 1.5. And I'm a beta tester too.

There is: Taskbar properties/Taskbar appearance/ Check Never Combine and Use Small Icons. There. Done. I still prefer Aero Peek, but hey, to each his own.

Oh, aero peek is cool indeed, it lets me watch Top Gear while waiting for replys on the forum...

But it doesn't always work, for instance with winamp...

Yeah, some programs still aren't "Peek/Snap/Whatever-compatible". That's normal. What isn't normal is when some of those applications are from Microsoft itself XD.

About public acceptance... Beta testers and IT pros love it, but the business world still clings to Xp (And with the current state of the economy you can't really blame them). As for news on the design, Microsoft has said it will be possible to uninstall IE from windows (well, disable and hide it, since a large part of windows is built on top of IE) *cue 7-tan kicking IE-tan out of her home, or, even better, hiding IE in a cupboard and pretending she doesn't exist*. There are also rumors of new GUI features being tested in the RTM branch (not in the RC branch)...
