Honestly, if I were to go over every stupid thing my mom has claimed about any computer or anything I've done with one, I'd be here all day :\

the only stuff that really enraged me as a child was how my mother yelled at me if she found me on any forum or chatroom. she threatened me, and instilled a very very deep fear in me of giving out my information online. i guess there's a real upside to that: I've never been hacked and never been doxxed. never been tracked down at all and never actually received any hate mail. except, you know, from that asslord Sindu. fuck him. lol

I just never talked about my online activities. When you're the only one in the family who can use a computer, you can do that sorta stuff.

Grandparents are letting us have a bunch of stuff cause they don't know how much longer they'll have this cottage...on one hand I'm sad, on the other I'm glad it's not all being thrown away or sent to Goodwill

Using logic and potentially false as my parents don't remember wanting to give me Niney vague memories involving her, I have determined the likeliness of Niney being certain operating systems if found, and being certain operating systems if found working.

If found:

• Windows 98 (either FE or SE, won't be able to tell unless it's working):54%
• Windows ME: -5%, my parents have no reason to transport a Windows ME from Wisconsin to Indiana, hence the odd number that allows this to add up to 100%

• Windows 95: 37.5%, there was Windows 95-compatible software brought with us, but Niney (if she's a 95) wasn't needed because the software worked fine on XP, and with the use of of compatibility settings, it still works fine on Windows 8.
• Windows 98 FE: 31.5%, I vaguely recall using such as a little kid, but it could easily have been 95.
• Windows 98 SE: 31%
• Windows ME: i%, at this point I'm making up numbers to show how unlikely it is that Niney is a Windows ME, sadly this means this is out of i+100%, not out of the traditional 100%

@Pent: Wow. My parents also have an issue with me going to see my friend (who like me is about 16). One of the few friends I have IRL has relatives where my friend lives, but I'm not going to use her as a means to meet my online friends in real life. Thankfully, by the time I met her online, they didn't have any problems with me being on a forum. But they had issues with me joining fanfiction.net. :/

@Cockle: My parents did the same with me. Except I never truly had a Sindu (the closest would be my cousin, who stole shit from my Neopets account, and that was because I stupidly told her my passwords, not because actual hacking).

@Duko: Indeed. The funniest part of all is how, while my mom took issue on me talking to people online about computer or video game stuff, yet she could talk openly about family stuff to people she met in a random chat room and it's perfectly fine >_>;

So, knocked out a large chunk of the training tests today; was getting a little annoyed with one coworker, whom I used to work with at Gamestop, spending the entire time whining about how this is "torture" (Honestly, even though it is things I've heard a billion times over from every past employer, I'm getting paid for it, so really, I don't care). Otherwise, it went well. Tomorrow, I finish it up; don't have too many more to do, so IDK if they'll put me out on the floor for training once I'm finished or what

hahahah, the breakdown of what i did as an internet child was
a) troll sailor moon fansites and ebay looking for sailor moon stuff (i learned about Stars this way)
b) hentai occasionally
c) an AIM chatroom called The Greasy Spoon

I feel like the only person on the planet who didn't willingly look at hentai until they was roughly 20 :\
Was always more of a fan of ecchi, to be honest; it was hot without being pornographic -w-

What I did on the internet as a kid changed a lot over time; when I was about 8, most of my time was spent trolling Nintendo's website for info on upcoming N64 games, and playing random Shockwave based games on the websites for Lego, Willy Wonka, etc.
(Which, mom threw a fit over me signing up for Lego without permission, and for putting my initials on the high score list on a game I played on the Wonka site >_>; )

@Kari: Wow. I had no idea that stuff existed when I was eight. What I was doing at that time was playing Neopets and looking up Pokémon-related stuff and playing with extremely old programs. ._.;
