when i went, it was coolish but very temperate, and sunny all the time. a light breeze passed through the landscape. it was really what you'd picture may to be like, still spring, but with hints of summer on the horizon.

ever wish you knew someone from now back in the past? had i known nej back then i'd have tried to visit him. (of course, he was in about 7th grade or so)

Often, yes; if only just because it's nice to finally have people to talk to, and finally share my stories with :3

I think the mobo on my goddamn laptop quit....

I was just sitting there using it and it shut off. And then I turned it back on and before I could login to Windows it shut off again. And then I managed to turn it on, log in and get onto a couple programs and BAM, it shuts off again.

I just cracked open the case and I don't see any physical damage but THAT ISN'T EXACTLY COMFORTING.

Is it getting proper ventilation? It might be overheating, or the fans might be giving out :\

It was reasonably well ventilated, sitting on my lap but I made sure the main fan vent (which is on the left side of the computer) was clear. The fan has always been a bit noisy/rattly so perhaps it needs to be replaced. (I always chalked it up to age [fans tend to get noisy when they're a few years old] but maybe it's broken? It sounded like it was running when it shut off. Maybe it isn't working at full capacity though).

I might try uninstalling the Asus program "Power4Gear" since that's a fan-control program and people have had issues with their fans not running normally when its installed. IF I CAN GET IT TO STAY ON LONG ENOUGH, that is.

Nichi

Try turning it on, and have a desk fan or something blowing onto it while you uninstall that software. It might help keep things under control

Planning on giving it a shot tonight, with a window open, and a fan in the window, and my computer my glass desk next to said fan. Though I'm probably still gonna bring it by the repair shop where I bought it to have the technician check out the fan. (Since I mentioned/complained about the noise like, last fall. He said to bring it in if it ever had any "problems" and I'm guessing this counts.)

I'd pack a few icepacks under the desk. But I think that might cause issues with condensation?

Chocofreak13

wrap it in a paper towel. it's what i did when i wanted to keep playing my PS2 when it was getting hot. (not as badass as what i did with my N64, but still. -w- )

1. Leaf, not now.
2. I know the feeling of a computer shutting down from overheating.  Maybe you should leave alone for a few hours.
3. I wish want to go to Japan in the future.
4. Random quote- "Scientists have studied your a** for centuries.  And sent me back in time to slap it!  Or kick, or screw, depending on your preferences."

I hope your ready!

Thanks for the advice everyone!

@Leaf: Not sure if it can be considered processor-intensive but I was on a video call for maybe 20 minutes when it first crashed. The second time it crashed before I could even sign into Windows. And the third occurred a few moments after I restarted said call.

@Spence: I've had computers (well, a computer) shut off from overheating. Unfortunately that was K8, and the overheating and shutting off kept getting progressively worse and worse until she was unusable. :[

Hopefully this is just a fan or ventilation issue. I'm running Speedfan as we speak and keeping an eye on the temps.

Chocofreak13

good luck bells. sucks about KalamityK8, though, she was cool. :\
