@pent: and it WAS an epic journey! >:3
@simon: i've toyed with the idea of living in japan, but were i to i'd likely either settle in Hokkaido or Kyoto. as tempting as living in Tokyo is, the costs of living there are the highest in the world. .__.
if you want to learn japanese, though, download the torrent. if you're concerned about a copyright issue, it's basically abandonware at this point; the program is OBVIOUSLY from the 80's and i haven't heard anything in recent years involving a program like this, meaning it's likely out of print.

or if you want, there's a youtube version.
@leaf: we tried making an OSC-tan a couple years ago but no one could agree on a design so we abandoned the idea. but i know for fact there is a Gaia-tan (very obviously ripped off from the OS-tans), a Facebook-kun, Twitter-tan, Myspace-kun, DA-tan, and if you count her there's Mirai, the mascot of DannyChoo.

That's a shame... I really wanted to see forum-tans:( Also the video is from the 80s? That's... awesome. On NHK World there is a program called Nihongo Quick Lesson, about 6 minutes each episodeI think... if you wanna learn a bit more Japanese then I'd really recommend it:

Maybe you've seen it before... I dunno.

Hey guys, in Florida right now with a random week off from everything. I'll post up some pictures later tonight because I'm going down to the beach right now.

Peace.

Also real quick, the Audi S6 super bowl commercial is so awesome & I just found a 2005 S4 for sale down here for $4000 so my dad is thinking of buying it and we drive it back up north...

Sounds nice, man :3

I'm debating over whither to help fund repairs on my truck or to buy something newer

Chocofreak13

@kraus: oh yeah, i just saw that on tv. tbh that gets my vote for favourite commercial thus far, but i've only seen two. xD
have fun in florida, my grandpa's there right now but he says he's bored. :\

@pent: repair for now, since you can't count on a car you don't have yet. later on you might be able to trade it in for something, or sell it for scrap. :\

@leaf: haven't, thanks for the link. i'm always up for new material. -w-

Indeed. Although, if I got it fixed, I'll likely keep driving it for quite some time; it's not terrible on gas, as far as SUVs go :3
(This thing is like a Prius compared to the Chevy Suburban my grandma used to have)

Is it me or does not very much "OS-tan" stuff get talked about on the "OS-tan collections" forum?
Official -tans are my bat signal.

Nichi

It's always been like this, man. Nothing out of the ordinary

*sigh* -w- I suppose this is a very small fandom (at least for English speaking places)
...I really did come here for OS-tans though. And it seemed more OS-tan centered at first...

I did too, but ended up falling in love with the community

Heh, I guess OSC is a social network masquerading as a OS-tan forum. XD

Seems like it LOL

After all, some have found love here, others have found some of the closest friends they've ever had...and some found lots of naughty stuff in the gallery ^^;;;

DustiiWolf

lol... still... wish there was more activity in the OS-tan fandom as a whole (on the western side that is. considering Yu And Ai made their special editions of windows 8 sell like hotcakes, I think the fandom in japan is doing just fine)...but its still nice here none the less. :)

there used to be more os-centred talk, but i suppose you can say it's cooled a bit. i only really discuss canon-tans (my area of expertise) and most of the discussion these days is over vintage ones, even in the theory thread. (i don't have much to contribute to current conversations, thus i avoid them.)

if you had been here about 2 years ago you would have seen more. but we are what we are, man. if you want to discuss -tans more, contribute to a topic.

also, i wouldn't consider Yu and Ai to be too much a part of "fandom", as they were crafted by the company this time, not the fans.
