I've tried petting, the tweak is strong with this one, though.  Yes, I'm totally serious.  She's pissing Joan off, so I've got to get her to chill out.

She assumes since we're awake (even though we've been trying to sleep) that she should also be awake.

@dan: kittens are like babies in this respect. if you interact with them AT ALL during sleeping hours, they'll assume it's waking time. however, since cats are nocturnal by nature, you can't expect her to sleep outright, but you can train her to leave you alone.
this can become a learned behavior, so be careful. ><;
