Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

Hi Penti-chan!  :)

I got the Star Wars episodes I - VI from the library this week, I'm going to watch them and then go see The Force Awakens.

Pitkin

Take off every ZIG, for great justice!

How's life treating you, the light of my life between 2009 and 2011? It's the Guinness talking, don't mind me.

Nichi

I recently obtained the rest of the original trilogy (I haven't seen them in years), and also have the laughably bad Star Wars Holiday Special xD

Remilia

@PipPitkin: Not bad. Quite good actually now that I think of it. I was lucky enough to see the theatrical adaptation of "And Then There Were None" without reserving a ticket beforehand. The sushi I had today was good, and I also have tea. Also, anime, games... I have everything I need! Living the dream. ;D Also... THE SPRING IS COMING!

But... Guinness? :judgingyou:

@Penti-chan: I haven't seen them for like 10 years... and I also have to confess that I haven't seen the episodes II and III I'M SORRY I'M NOT A TRUE STAR WARS FAN. But I do have a feeling that in a week or so I'm going to evolve into a Star Wars nerd and spend my savings on a high quality lightsaber. That would be an improvement, would it not?

Nichi

xD
To be fair...you didn't miss much with episodes II and III. Well, III had some stuff that I still make fun of to this day, while II was forgettable.

@Kari: I know the feeling; I have a box full of boxes to random PS2, PSP, and DS games from when I worked at Gamestop -w-;;

As far as cleaining my room, I recently removed my rabbit's cage; regaining that spot in my room. Still a few other key areas I need to sift through, before I can take on the closet, and lastly, the stuff of mine in my sister's old room ^^;

Chocofreak13

yeah, i did the opposite. all the books i took today (sans 2) are in a very large cardboard box in my room at my parents. -w-;;;;

Apartment Hunting: A Summary
By Choco

So early this week, Steve received a call from one of his best friends, Mike. Mike has a wife and a child, and they live on Mike's parents' floor on a couple of mattresses. The wife, Silk, is prego again, and she's so fed up with the way Mike's mother treats her, that she ended up storming off earlier this week for a few days and took the 2-year-old, Chloe. Cue Mike calling Steve and asking us to go in on an apartment with them.

So after a chat with Mike (and Steve's mom, actually), we laid down a date (yesterday) to go see some places, with us looking into some other places later on. We (mostly him, actually, and kudos for the effort) had found a few places listed on Craigslist and went off to see a pair of 3-bedrooms in Manchester yesterday morning.

Yesterday arrives and we're awake by 8:30 (too early!!), me with a stomachache (shoulda known that was a sign...), showing up at the rental office by about 10:15 (a smidge early). We go with the rental agent over to the place, which turns out to be in a slightly skeevy area....going inside didn't yield better results. Both apartments were in the same building (one on the second floor, one on the third), but both had narrow servants' steps style staircases in front and exteriour staircases in back. Combine that with slanted floors, bedrooms the size of closets (second floor specifically), tiny bathroom (third floor specifically), and various other issues including questionable outlet placement and an adjacent apartment that looks like it had been broken into, and we decide to 'think about it'. As it turns out, however, the rental agent had shown the apartment to someone before us, and they were in the process of gathering money to put it on hold as we were seeing it! It wasn't meant to be.

We have time to kill, so we decide to go to a few places in Derry to inquire. We walked into my sister's complex (since we were right around the corner), but they weren't renting till March. Next was over to a place from Craigslist, Franklin Village, but they refuse to rent to parties larger than 4 (and we have 5 currently, with 1-2 more on the way). That one was for the best, honestly, since we're pretty sure we saw the maintenance guy tuck a bottle of vodka (or at least some kind of liquor) into his coat as we were leaving. >>;;;

It's nearing the middle of the afternoon and the end of our trip, and we've left our names and numbers with 2 rental realtors in the area, and did a drive-by of 2 other places (one was a Craigslist apartment we couldn't get the info for at the time, and the other was an apartment in a church that Mike and Silk had rented previously, which looked occupied). On the way back to Plaistow, we talk about regrouping and widening our search, even looking at trailers, renting houses, and MAYBE even going into Mass (as a last resort). The afternoon ends high, and I go about the rest of my day.

After chatting with mum around 8pm, we get a call from Mike at 9:30....and things get bad. Mike is on a (overexcited) tirade about how he heard of this 'great opportunity' to take over someone's mortgage after they were foreclosed on via this 'organization'. Said 'organization' only requires $200 down, and doesn't do credit checks. I mention getting a lawyer involved, he says one of his coworkers' ex-husband is a lawyer, and she says he'd look over the paperwork, ignoring my questions about what type of law he practices. He's rambling, Steve's holding the phone from his ear, and I'm devolving into a full-blown panic attack as I think about what the hell we've gotten ourselves into. He hangs up, and I try to breathe and calm down, but he calls back about half an hour later (he's at work, btw), saying he had found out more about the situation and still trying to convince us, blowing my anxiety up again. After hanging up for the second time, Steve comes over to make sure I'm not going to hyperventilate and I start getting mad about just how damn naive Mike is. We both agree that if Mike wants to BUY a place, he's on his own, and that I need to educate them a little bit about the realities of home ownership. (I've said it several times, and I'll say it again: I SERIOUSLY feel like the only adult here.)

At least, all I dealt with at work last night was an asshole throwing out the cherry slushie I just bought  because he was butthurt over getting written up for not showing up to the meeting :\

Anyway, I'm actually running late; was so wrapped up in my post in Relationships that I lost track of time ^^;

Nichi

I got there a little late, but not too bad; it was just five minutes past the hour ^^;

Work was a lot better tonight than it was the night before; helped by the fact the two magnets for drama were off
