@4chan: i always pictured the old days of 4chan as being akin to the wild west of the internet. i learned of 4chan before i was here (EARLY high school, so 06?), and spent a lot of time trolling their flash board (didn't actually post). Alex and Claire inform me that it was never this way, that there have always been mods loosely inforcing rules, they just sucked at it. however, now, 4chan appears to be growing into a place that is getting somewhat "normal" (if arbitrary), which isn't something ANYONE wants. >>;

also, i was searching for an oldfag reference to something and found a thread on 4chan from 5 days prior. turns out the topic was deleted (the 404 pic i posted in rpt is from that) despite being fairly new? i just chalked it up to 4chan recycle policies and posted what i could get of a quote from google search in context quote.

going to spend the day making my sister a birthday present. since i'm reasonably sure she doesn't read this part of the forum i feel no risk in posting about it here. watercolour picture(s?) of her Wildstar character. i'm broke, she made me art one year, i'm sure she'll love it, plus i haven't done watercolours in FOREVER and it sounds fun. will post results later. ^^

Yes. In the old days, there were mods- but they basically never did anything and allowed 4chan to obtain the reputation it carries to this day.

Lately they've put on some newer mods, who have been on a rather erratic crackdown and turning 4chan in to the same boring place as most of the -chan sites have become.

It could be a good thing, since it might cut down on the amount of trouble to originate there, but it is definately a bad thing because all that trouble is going to spread out and contaminate everything else. Having 4chan as one big cesspool made it easy to keep the rest of the internet clean.

TBH, the only part of that site I went to with any frequency was /cgl/. Went to /b/ once...and promptly turned around and never went back -w-;

/f/ was the only board i visited back in the day, and it's not not even accessible from the main page, you have to type in 4chan.org/flash/ . >>;

Supposidly /d/ hasn't changed one bit. But that is mainly because of the type of content posted there. You won't see me there any time soon.

Once and a while I'll pop up in /a/ or in /vg/. I tend to not go there very often, by the time I find an interesting thread it is already being saged.
