I still don't go there, hardcore H is not something I enjoy :p

@genpop: to be fair, i didn't learn about the term "hentai" until after some searching on google for "anime XXX". the weirdest thing was that i believe the first time i actually searched for that a parent was in the room. our computer was in the shared office space, you see. PARENTING AT ITS FINEST PEOPLE

i did more of the "normal" internet stuff after we regained internet (we had it when we initially got the computer, parents decided in about 4th grade it was too pricey (and they didn't use it), we lost it and i was literally the only kid in 5th grade without it, didn't get it back till 7th grade), such as joining Gaia and playing flash games (actually joined my first MMO and first learned about OS-tans in my freshman year of high school, so 2006?). chatted on aim, did random stuff, etc etc.

but yeah, the EARLY years were nothing but porn and sailor moon. i think i actually found art of Sailor and the Seven Ballz around that time, too, though i didn't figure out what that was till earlier this year.

Honestly, I had enough problems as it was out of mom when a suggestive pop-up ad came up with trolling the nets for info on classic video games, that if I had been genuinely looking at porn, I'd probably have instantly lost computer access instantly >_>;

Which, we had dial-up from roughly 1996 until 2009, with varying providers in that time. Our last provider was honestly pretty good as far as  all the local ones we've had...until about early 2009; when it became so unstable that I really couldn't do much without constant disconnects (That being the reason I disappeared from OSC). Mom then got DSL...but now our provider offers better speeds in our area, but she refuses to ask for an upgrade because she's convinced they'd charge us more, when it costs exactly the same for a 1.5Mb/s connection as she's paying for a 512Kb/s one *facepalm*

Meanwhile, I think my parents had moved on from dial-up by the time I was born (December 1997) and definitely before we got Homeko (mid-late 2001). My parents both got sick of dial-up really quickly and waited for the cable company to provide internet, and were the cable company's first internet customers, but they never said exactly when this happened, however.

My mom refuses to get cable internet because she's convinced that she'd have to give up satellite TV to have it (Which, the cable TV here blows; they've changed names more than they've changed their channel lineup :\ )

The sad part about moving to DSL? It wasn't even the fact our provider was becoming nigh-on unusable that convinced her to upgrade from dial-up; it was the free antivirus they offered as part of it >_>;;

Oh my god. I had to actually go look at how long of a hiatus that really was.

My last post prior to today was July 3, 2009.
