just because you don't want reality to be hard doesn't mean it isn't in most cases. but that sounds like another one for the hot button topics issue. (but i'll be honest, most days i fucking hate life. hate it to death.)

as for changeling, we need to gather everyone on a regular basis. think we can do that?

no, but if you face it with extra grieveance it only gets harder...

yeah, complaining doesn't solve anything, but it does alleviate stress somewhat, making you feel a bit better, meaning you can tackle the problems more efficiently. :\

unrelated: i fucking love hanafuda.

i might become a volunteer firefighter -w- manly strength and stuff
What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

If you join the VFD, please let me know if anyone explains the significance of the sugar bowl. That's bugged me for several years

@cockle: nuu, don't go running into ovens and get char-broiled ;^;
@pent: explain that one to me.

It's a reference to a major plot point in A Series of Unfortunate Events; a book series I enjoyed as a kid...well, save for the final book; which left everything unanswered including the mystery of the sugar bowl :\

Regardless of the bad ending, it was still a good series; I'd suggest reading it :3

Chocofreak13

ahhh, a series of unfortunate events! i think my sister has the entire book series, i have volume 8 for some reason (i think i found it at a book sale and didn't want to leave the poor thing there), and i've been meaning to read it. i have the soundtrack to the book series, too. ^^

i'd like to read the artemis fowl books, too, which she also had at one point.

while we're on the subject of books, i had a thought last night: Of Mice and Men is probably one of my favourite books. it was required reading in high school, but it was actually a really moving novel. sad but beautiful.

Artemis Fowl is a good series. I need to get back to it; I lost track after the 4th or 5th book ^^;;

Which, one book I enjoyed that I'd love to track down a copy of was In Darkness: Death. It was a very well written story about ninjas; compared to others, it felt like they actually did the research into ninjutsu, which made for a good read

Chocofreak13

cool. what was it about beyond ninjas? (basic plot synopsis ploz?)

Artemis Fowl is a good series for the most part. It used to be one of my favorites, but the 6th and 7th books have me feeling...lacking.
I haven't read the 8th and final (?) book yet, but my hopes aren't all high.

#4 and #5, however, are fucking top class, and the first three aren't too far behind.

cool to know. but i'd read the last one if i were you; how can you know the series went downhill if you didn't read them all?
