IMHO Cairo muslims did not understand that Dio Brando just browsed the pages of the Quran without interest...

So his reading of a sacre book is just an act of heresy regarding any religion...

However this intolerance is being harassing...

There are dozens of scenes in movies and books offending Bible and/or Catholic or Protestant Christians and these facts just raise some minor protests by Catholic Church or by some Protestant believers, but none (and I point "NONE") in the western countries will raise anymore an official religious interdiction (Fatwa) in these times...

Not even the Vatican actually excommunicates anyone... (as it happened with Galileo Galilei stating that Earth spins around the Sun) and Protestants do not burn books anymore, as it happened with Darwin and his evolution theory...

Why muslims are so absolute in their beliefs? Could not they being more tolerant with fiction stories, and or fiction comic stories really not offending Quran?

Do they understood that Dio Brando is acting as supervillain offending ANY religion and just not only Islam?

Post by Nejin removed as it was semi inflamitory.  Also, I dont belive we have any rules against it as long as its not done in an offending inflamatory manner, but talks of religion and politics are what have led to a few of the arguments on here and I would highly saggest avoiding them, even if they are slightly relevent to the anime/ostan fandom, but its just a saggestion

Captain, your point in regard to discussions involving politics and/or religion is well taken.  It's true the news article I posted is relevant to anime/games/manga in a "big picture" way, but on the other hand folks can read such articles at their originating Web sites -- as they choose and as they find them of their own accord.

I happen to receive electronic-mail news summaries daily, from several news-gathering agencies around the globe; and the word "anime" tends to catch my eye when it shows up in a headline.  But since both politics and religion have become such polarizing subjects these past several years, I'll avoid posting news articles in which those topics are discussed.

Indeed it is.

What scares me more is the slow increase of "extremist" christian religious groups who try to force their ways of thinking into the US government policies  (intelligent design vs. evolution theory, as an example).
