Oooh, nice drawings! iPhone-tan is adorable, especially the one on the left...the look on her face is just, so, golden. I think the clever, mischievous, even a bit bratty, personality fits her like a glove. I daresay she's a bit Tinkerbell-like, whether depicted as a fairy or not.

And Mac-tan looks so...sweet and peaceful in this picture. She's often shown as being very high-strung and tempermental...But I like seeing this side of her.

As I've said before, you have a lot of talent! Colored or not, these are great!

QuoteIt's a temporary phase, when a new Apple Operating System comes out the new one and the current always end up fighting, as soon as the other one takes the lead the rivalry usually disappears.
Though Tiger and Leopard show the fiercest rivalry compared to their sisters, much to the family's amusement.

But deeply inside they care to each other.

Yeah, I suppose all OS-tan families have some jealousy and infighting when a new member of their family comes along...I certainly think so for the Windows family. But I guess all will be well, eventually ;)

But...XP-tan and Vistan...now that's some bad blood -__-

QuoteSystem 1-tan was very happy about the arrival of System 2-tan (happy to have a daughter or younger sister- not completely decided if System 1-tan is the mother figure of the Classic Mac OSes or the oldest sister, but she was happy to start a family on her own)

I vote she's the mama of the Classic Macs...I mean, considering the different mothers we have running around out there...she wouldn't be the strangest, not by a long shot. I mean, at least she likes her (would-be) daughter, which puts her ahead of most OS-tan mamas O__o

Quotebut both were outraged when System 3-tan came along (introduced the HFS system which has gotten a lot of praise, was also introduced with the highly revered Mac Plus) for being so much more popular. System 1-tan was outraged with System 4-tan at first for dropping support of the original Macintosh and the 512 (the two Macs that run System 1) but got over that when realizing that obviously later Mac-tans will not support the first 2 Macintosh computers either.

Oh man...talk about family rivalry...

QuoteAnd then the Sytem 1,2,3 and 4-tans were jealous of System 4.2-tan/System 5-tan for being much taller than them as well as acquiring the ability to multitask, support color(?) (I'm actually not sure whether it was System 4.2 or 6 that introduced labels and color support! I've checked many Mac history sites and they are pretty inconsistent about that. I hope I guessed right!)

So, there's a bit of jealously here, huh? I wouldn't worry too much about the finer details...a lot of older OSs have sparse references...

QuoteAnd once again I'm not completely sure but wasn't System 4.2 avaliable for only a very limited time? But either way, she would not have gotten along with System 6-tan at all at first (I do not know what System 6 introduced but I do know it was regarded as extremely fast and stable, was the first Mac OS to be around for a few years before a brand new release, is one of the most revered Classic Mac OSes and has quite a userbase that remains to this day)

Wow, I didn't know System 6 had such a following, nor that it was, and is still considered, a good OS...I learn something new every day...

QuoteAnd then by the time System 7-tan came along, all previous Mac-tan conflicts have been reconciled... Uhh... To be continued x__x

Well, of course by this time they had to reconcile...the Macs were facing a bad...nay, terrible, fate, at the height of the OS Wars, and would have to learn to work as a family once again if they ever wanted to continue to exist. They ultimately pulled it off, and came back much as a much closer and wiser family, I believe.

QuoteI'm mostly a hand sketcher, I love the feeling a sketch gives but secretely I crave to be able to do kickass CG coloring or just color.
Lately I've been slowly trying to do something in color and I've been getting better lately, though usually I start using Corel Painter from scratch rather than doing the first sketch by hand.

Yeah, I love hand-drawing, too, but I usually start stuff off hand-drawn and move it to Inkscape to vectorize it...I could never just draw on the computer, because I have no sense of proportions when looking at the monitor for...some reason...

QuoteI love pen drawing!! Isn't it fun?! Ball point pens are probably my very favorite doodling materials!! ^__^

Cute drawing, Toki :3 You keep this up, you might have to get a gallery here. This goes for iDarbert, too...

I'm finally back and if someone wants to check out most of the stuff I've drawn in the past I'll link my gallery here hoping it's not considered spamming

There's a worksafe and a non worksafe gallery, and... well, that's all I guess.

VonDaab

Uh oh, Do I notice Jazz Jackrabbit fanart?

Oh the Hivemind.
Something I did few months ago http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee258/VDaab/jjpaint1n2.png

Neveretheless, very nice art you got there.

Yep, I happen to love that game and decided to give it a little homage.

Nice website! I checked out the gallery...did I see a Linux-tan in there...?

And I didn't know you had a whole story made up for the Mac-tans. Cool!

Huh, I forgot about that... is it the pirate version?

QuoteAnd I didn't know you had a whole story made up for the Mac-tans. Cool!
More like two :P
"In a particular variation of the plot they also own a bar with two normal girls named Bridget and Sasha."

The latter was in form of 4komas, which unfortunately I've lost somewhere in the house.

Almost forgot, some more...

Sorry for bumping my own thread, but it in case someone wonders how my coloured artwork looks like I have this quickie from yesterday (not worksafe)

Yo iDarbert.  Haven't formerly welcomed you yet, so "welcome" and "very awesome artwork you have going!"  ^__^

Do please keep it up,...and perhaps,... treat us to a local User Gallery with all your drawings?  ^__'

Oh, I can open it myself? I thought there was some administrator work behind the galleries.

C-Chan

Only the official OS-tan galleries need Admin approval.  The User galleries can be opened AND maintained by the user.  :)

You can refer to this thread for instructions...

...but you look like the kind of person that can figure it out easily without it.  ;)

Yeah I had this weird idea somehow, thanks for letting me know.

Thumbs up for the sketches iDarbert!  ;010

I really wish I could've notice this thread earlier this week :(

Oh and have fun creating your own user galleries here in the OSC!

iDarbert

I managed to upload my first picture actually, pretty neat - faster than the DA submission system actually.

Bella

Haha! The iPhone-tan and Mac-tan comic is great! The looks on their faces are...priceless!

And I concur, you need a user gallery! :D
