yeh, or when some idiot nukes the world...then we'd have bigger problems to worry about....

Aliens could invade, too, either mocking our lame technology or warring us...Either way; bigger problems...

Headless laptop? What kind of benefits would that have? Nonetheless, it is still an interesting concept!

And one more thing...I am Borg...

Smokey

I am Smokey!!!
6,945,487 extraterrestrial races have tried to assimilate/probe/dissect/study me and they're all extinct... :D

............ yes indeed, time for some links.  `v'

....

I was wondering when they'd finally revive those things.  Take out the optical drive and put in the same component as an EeePC, and you'd get a smaller form factor.  ;)

Smokey

OMG they actually took an idea i once had for my dying lappie (fold it shut and use as PC) and turned it into an actual idea...

removing the screen portion of a "desktop-replacing-laptop" would be better, though... they are flatter and have a built in ups...

Somehow this reminds me awfully much of Gundam Seed. All that's left is for the screen to magically wrap itself into the keyboard-computer itself.

Commodore lives!

That's really neat...it's very reminiscent of the 80s/90s minicomputers. Cool!

Do you mean, the screen went on it and you were just going to hook it up to a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc?

Smokey

Yes, the monitor was dead and i didn't want to return it for repairs (i eventually did and they proved my point: it took them half a year and more stuff broke after 3 days), so i thought i'd just use it as a very small, say designer pc... :D

You peoplez....

I'm back from a very LOOONG hiatus, and aching all over.  @__@

Word from the Wise to all Ye Not Eternally Attached to a Keyboard:  if you ever plan on building a garden pond, be ready to dig up a LOT of dirt.  T_________T;

FYI, I've been meaning to drop these links off on Friday, but didn't get the chance...

First, a small article about my belove eComStation-tan and how WONDERFUL her new release is.  ^___^
And anyone who disagrees with that statement shall get his kneecaps busted by a small, angry, black pig.  ^_____________^

http://www.ofb.biz/safari/article/459.html

Then a little morale booster for anyone who had faith in the OLPC project (I didn't), and are not very happy with the latest turn of events:

And then finally another example of why DRM isn't something that can be brushed aside as trivial, especially if you're an honest, law-abiding citizen:

--------------------------------------

In other news, I finished trying Ubuntu 8.04 and am happy to see some much needed refinement (plus the new heron wallpaper is kinda neat).    ^^

Plus I noticed that the Ren'Py Visual Novel game engine is available in their repos -- naturally, I'm clamoring to get the same uploaded to PCLOS as it'd be a  PERFECT chance to make some quick OS-tan inspired educational games.  ^.^

Tsubashi

Sounds like you had fun, ne Senpai?

I'm very sorry for not being more trustworthy; I said I'd be around more often and the nigh on dropped off the face of the earth! Gomen nasai.
If it makes me seem less pathetic, my only excuse is history finals. Never was good at history ^^'

Unfortunately I've got an unusually large project with an excruciatingly near deadline at work, so I'll be in and out at best. With any luck I should (hopefully) be able to start popping in more often. Then again, I think I already used up all my luck for the entire year yesterday ^.^'

I must apologize to anyone who's birthday I missed, and even worse, I can't remember who since I forgot to back up iCal when I upgraded to leopard (b4k4 TsuTsu ^^')

Thanks for the links, senpai. I don't read/watch/listen to any news very much, so it's very nice of you to point out the best ones. I especially enjoyed the explination of the Doctrine of Insufficient Adulation Syndrome. ^v^

And to not be too off-topic, if I had the money and/or time, I would totally do this ^v^
