Aurora Borealis

I've experimented with the Star Tool and knew it had lots of possibilities but I didn't know it had THAT MANY possibilities as shown in the tutorial! Wow!

C-Chan

Yay!!  Lilly-san is here and Aurora-dono is psyched!  ^____^

Mission accomplished,... okay, I can retire now... ^.^

Oh right, I gotta actually finish this, don't I?  ^___^
Okay fine, let's continue..... ^.^

Until I actually start discussing Anime concepts, it will help [especially for you Lilly-san] to produce random, art nouveau style pictures using the tools I'm detailing here, and then post them on this thread.  This will help you get used to working with the tools described, and thus prepare you for when we start creating new characters.  ^____^

Added after 1 minutes:

FYI, if you've ever used Microsoft Office, Star Office or Open Office, you might be interested to know that all that clipart is done with vector graphics!  ^v^

So at the very least, these tutorials have practical usage outside of this forum, since you'll also learn how to do your own clipart for work and/or school. ^.^

Added after 6 hours 14 minutes:

Extremely boring section about the Spiral Tool added....  -v-

This week has been jam-packed with work, active Linux Recruitment and a less-than-stellar birthday, but it's all cleared up now so I can finally pick up where I left off..... ^__^

Unfortunately, today's Freehand Tool update is more like adding a mere blurb rather than a full-blown section to the tutorial, but hey at least it's something.  There's a lot to discuss about the Line Tool, so hope I can finish that one tomorrow.  ^____^

C-Chan

Finally got around to writing about the Line Tool, which will be my last major Toolbar description since the remaining ones are fairly trivial in use.

Oh, and there's a brief cameo appearance by Kagami-san.  ^^

C-Chan

Added Calligraphic Tool section.  Sort of a waste of time, but hey,... the tale's got to get told....  -v-'

C-Chan

Woohoo!!!  ^.^

Went the full mile and decided to wrap up the entire Inkscape Toolbox section all in one shot!!  ^v^

I still need to discuss a few more toolbars before we begin with the good stuff, but these following toolbars are also pretty interesting.  ^.^

Tsubashi

Gah! I think my notification program is broken, because I never get informed when you post here! Gomen nasai!

Anyways, am I the only one who feels like this is becoming like the 'Gallery Updates' thread? I'm sorry for not posting sooner!

Great job Senpai! It so amazing how good you are at detailing how to use each tool. We could probably propose this as Inkscape pseudo-documentation, ne? ^__^
-Tsu

C-Chan

Hehe.......... Veeeeeeeeeeeeeery pseudo.... -v-;

Well,... dunno,.... maybe if/when I'm done, I can have it edited professionally (including table of contents and all).

C-Chan

GAAAAAAAAH!!!  Wanted to complete the first section of Chapter 2, but work's been intense lately and my brain's turned to mush... XvX;

I'll try to publish it tomorrow.  ^^'

Tsubashi

Don't worry Senpai, everyone has days like that. Don't rush yourself; We will be fine if you need extra time ^-^

C-Chan

Thank you, Oh Valiant Vampire.  ^__^
(right, I do remember you saying you were gonna put that...)

There will be only 5 sections in Chapter 2, but certainly the Fill and Stroke Swatch section will be LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG (very important part of Inkscape, and all....)  ^.^

C-Chan

Okay, I'm finally getting back on track!  ^v^

Wrote a nice sizable section on the Commands Bar, and even did a little reogranization so that the major dialog windows will be demonstrated sooner rather than later.

I know I know, some of you are just itching for action, but patience is the mother of greatness.  ^__^
If you learn how to use the program inside and out, you'll be better able to employ it outside the feel of Anime.  ^.^

C-Chan

Added an unusually-lengthy segment detailing the Palette Bar.  I didn't expect it to be large, but I kinda learned a thing or two while studying it.... ^___^

C-Chan

Okay now........

Officially finished with Chapter 2, but also did a major rewrite of early chapters since I confirmed that I did screw up with the naming conventions.  What I called "Paths" are actually "Fills" -- "Paths" are in fact combinations of "Fills" and "Strokes".  So I had to go back and do some major rewriting/reedting to fix this fudge up,... not terribly hard given the Find function, but still annoying.  ^^;

Chapter 3 will be a lot more exciting, I promise!  ^.^

Bella

As always, I am learning new things about Inkscape :D

Just one small gripe, I was distracted by your beautifully colorful WM theme XD
