Yo SleepyD.  ^___^
No prob, no prob, actually delayed a whole day today, so will try to resume tomorrow.... -v-'

Bella

OS/2-san!!!!

I remember seeing a screenshot of this pic in PS a while back...SleepyD always does the most dramatic poses ^_^

C-Chan

Yep, The Sleep is quite the Renaissance Man.  ^__^
BTW, congratulations on your first gold star!  ^.^

bah, no problem. take as much time as you want. ^^

thank you thank you. ^^
The poses look a lot better in my mind tho... ^^;

I need to do simpler ones more often, since these take so long for me to do, and I have a tendency to give up if I spend too much time on something. XD;;

you're too kind, sir pig. ^^;

"The Sleep," haha, that's a new one. XD;

NejinOniwa

The Sleep shalt not sleep, lest not at the wheel.

-w-

And GJ yar! It looks...like...DELICIOUS CAEK!!! *glomp*
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

Tsubashi

'The Sleep'? I am definitely calling you that from now on! ^v^
Very nice drawing, though. I remember seeing the sketch before I joined and thinking: "Now that is an OS-tan!" and scurrying off to find the colored version ^.^
Found it, ne? ^^'
Speaking of which, nice job Senpai! Definitely fitting for this drawing, and I am confident the final version will know all our sock off! ^o^

Oh, and Nejin-san...whilst!
The Sleep shalt not sleep whilst at the wheel. (lest he should crash)
Use archaic language correctly please. (Gomen nasai, 'tis a pet peeve of mine)  ^-^

QuoteAdmittedly, however, the program is slightly slower on Windows, only because it has to port over its operating environment (GTK+) , something which is already usually integrated into most Linux distros. ^___^
(one has to do the same when using Inkscape on Mac or OS/2)

Well, actually if you compile it yourself, you can make inkscape run natively on a Mac. I did. ^v^
Though I recently found out they documented it on the wiki ^^'

Quotebah, no problem. take as much time as you want. ^^

Fufu... thank you, but technically speaking I can't.  ^v^
Gotta move it along, if you know what I mean.... ^.^;

Still, would be nice to revisit it later for some additions.... -v-

That reminds me, I do want to create a template character model that people can manipulate more freely.  That way, it'd be a cynch to conceptualize new characters without having to worry about poses and such.  ^___^

Thanks.  I swear, that's gotta be swedish, though.  ^v^;

Really?  the picture is that old?  Damn, believe me that I've lost all track of time.  ^v^'
I kept thinking the Sleep was preparing this for the wallpaper contest, but you're right I might be thinking of the color version only.  -.-

The Pig is slipping, methinks.  ^__^'

Don't go off buying new pairs of socks just yet.  I'm gonna ramp up the speed of shading on this one to test out new techniques that I HOPE will help Bella-sama.  If I'm successful, it opens new and exciting doors of opportunity and efficiency.

If I'm not, I will require The Sleep to kill me.  ^_____^;

Based in part on my limited training with programming + my experience with Linux and installing tarballs, I'm slowly but surely grasping the concept of "compiling" software.  That's actually great, and I wonder if it'd be a good candidate for submitting to the Inkscape team as a native Inkscape installation (that is, unless things don't work that way... ^^;).

(you did say it was documented in the wiki, after all.... ^v^;)

Doubtful, it wasn't a very good job of it anyway ^^'
but it doesn't matter now, since they've made newer versions now. I just wanted to try the bleeding edge version, and there was an unusually sizable gap for the OS X dev packages

haha..... yeah, that's a bad thing.... scares the heck out of me thinking about it, since I have driven around in a rather sleepy state before. ^^;

haha, sure, me understandz. ^^
you know, it's interesting, that, since usually once I finish something I don't normally want to go back and fix it.... ^^;

haha, but I have fun thinking up poses. :3 Foreshortening is a pain, but when pulled off correctly, it's really amazing stuff. ^^

although, now that I think about it, my initial character designs of anyone were in rather simple standing poses.... welp, I'm not the type to follow a template, but if it helps others, great! ^^

um.... *checks date of creation* I didn't start til May.... ^^; Which makes sense, since I DID have a lot of work to do that semester.

Nah, torturing you to do it again would probably be more entertaining. XD;; And if I killed you, the Captain would probably have you for dinner before I finished laughing maniacally. XD;

*drops in thread dead tired....*

Oh dear gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd, I can't go on................ X___________X
I had planned a hundred million things to do tonight, but as it just so happens I only got around to do one actually related to the forum......  X__X;

Technique I mentioned was to rough flat shade it first, then smooth it out later.  Sorta worked as I have everything completed but the hair (which usually requires special treatment)....

....but it wasn't done in the record time I was hoping for..... -v-

Or maybe it would've worked if I had more sleep (no pun intended).... ^^;

Speaking of which, gotta get me some right now else I sleepwalk to the  darn airport tomorrow.  I promise to visit all the other threads tomorrow morning..... ^_____________^;

....

X___X.

.....

*snores*  -____-  Zzzzzzzzzzzz

SleepyD

HOLY POTSTICKERS THAT'S AMAZING! O_O

Yeah, the hair is.... special. XD;
Go sleep sir pig, rest. :3
I can stare at this for a long while, even if you're not done. XD;

Request when you're done: think you can give me the lineart and color separated? I plan on experimenting with the lineart.... lineart isn't always black. :3

Silentbob

Oh, that's very nice indeedy.     ;010      I layks it.

Now you can take a well deserved rest.

Gussy Keniji

My stars, this roxr my sox dood!!

You my good sir desever this rest, sleep well!

"Wut..."

Bella

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

My favorite OS/2-san picture to date (and it's not even quite finished)! Good job, The Sleep and C-Chan!

QuoteHOLY POTSTICKERS THAT'S AMAZING! O_O

It shouldn't come as no surprise to you, since it is primarily your drawing after all.  I said to myself the same thing when I saw you post it back in May.  ^^

QuoteYeah, the hair is.... special. XD;

I think I will go ahead and apply at least some light blur to the paths -- otherwise, I was really contemplating this morning whether to just leave it flat shaded as is, since the stroke widths lend themselves more to an Anime look.  Then again, with blur paths I don't need to worry about removing any jagged edges, so it would be faster... -v-

We'll see,... hopefully I can finish it tonight before I head off for my flight.  ^^

QuoteRequest when you're done: think you can give me the lineart and color separated? I plan on experimenting with the lineart.... lineart isn't always black. :3

Well on paper that sounds easy to do since I left your lineart as a vector shape traced by Inkscape from your original, and all the coloring was done in panels to fill in the gaps.  Unfortunately, Baka C-chan didn't have the foresight to keep panels above and below your lineart in separate layers, so they're all mixed up and I'd have to take a few minutes to separate them for ya.  ^___^

On the other hand, if you do want to experiment with colored strokes (like with SleepyD's 95-tan wallpaper submission), I could propose a more elaborate experiment using Inkscape masks.  Unfortunately with that, I won't discuss Masking in my tutorials for quite some time, so yeah.....  ^_____________________________^;

Why don't I just go ahead and separate all that for ya.  ^^;

QuoteOh, that's very nice indeedy.  I layks it.

Thank you, AmigaBob.  ^___^
Praise from an Amiga guru is worth its weight in gold,... or rather Platinum.  ^v^

QuoteMy stars, this roxr my sox dood!!

Thank you too, Gus-san.  I am sorry for not getting to your minis just yet, but they will get done IMMEDIATELY after her.  Promise.  ^___^

QuoteBEAUTIFUL!!!!

Thank you too, Bella-sam, but don't forget that you should be scorning me for not completing my promise to ya.  ^^'
I will say this that SleepyD did a phenomenal job with the inking and the pose work (more so than he cares to admit), so I believe it's thanks to that dynamism that you find this rendition of OS/2-tan particularly memorable.  ^.^

Added after 1 minutes:

BTW, Bella-sama, I hear you finally found the Easter Egg!  ^v^
(and yeah, there was some writing on it as well.... ^^)

Care to hear an explanation for such a,.... peculiar easter egg.....?  ^^;
