Hmm, I'm probably signing my own death warrant by doing this but...

PETITION TO KEEP UNIX-SAMA WEARING FRILLY VICTORIAN GOWN AND HAVE WINGS:

I, Techno, agree I want to keep Unix-sama, the known Goddess of the entire OS world, in a frilly gown and to furthermore have wings. By signing this document, I wave all liability for any damages incurred by an inevitably outraged Unix-sama, including, but not limited to, having objects thrown at me, being whacked with a metal staff, woefully one-sided psionic duals, and/or death.

Plan9 and Inferno look AWESOME! I'm really liking Inferno's orange stripe.

It about time: An RSX-tan!



As I've said before, I think her attitude would be a bit like Izumi Curtis (and RSX-tan's dress is inspired by her, too). A very tough but devoted teacher to the younger DEC-tans. Besides swordsmanship, she's skilled with alchemy; control of air being her weapon of choice. While she was raised by Batch 11-tan, her real heritage is very obscure yet ancient; it reaches back to the real time executive program written in the late 1950s, but not a lot more is known.

Aw darn, I almost completely forgot about the DEC-tans! (I know that most of them still need to be added to the wiki) But RSX-tan looks very nice nonetheless! Really like her military-style gown!

The other DEC-tans I'm working on included
RT 11-tan- a bit on the small and young side, orange-ish hair and electric blue eyes.
RSTS-tan-I've done a few vector sketches, but I'm looking at a complete redesign...
Batch 11-tan- difficult, young, RSX's and RT 11-tan's adoptive mother; but can't seem to design an outfit for her...

Hmmm.... well I know I'm not one to talk afterr UNIX-sama.  ^^'

But....

I know you said you wanted her to be act like Curtis-san, and I guess the dress can emulate it too.  But I think appearance-wise her face looks too much like Curtis-san's as well, and while I won't say that's a HUGE problem it does tone down on the originality a bit.  Your older sketch...



...shows the influence of Curtis-san without looking just like her.  It's probably too late now, but please consider a rethink on her design.  I'm sorry,... not really used to saying that.  '__'

Hmmm...yeah, it is a bit affected. I came within an inch of making her hair silver and long, and giving her glasses. Wanted her to look a bit youthful, though...oh well, I can always redo it. Some other time...

Anyhoo, something I did quite quickly (a few hours) over the past few days, for Valentine's Day:



No, no, I'm not attempting to ship Mac and PCs, Leopard-chan just wants to be friends with XP-san. As for the coloring/shading, I was intentionally going for a very simplistic look. And I didn't use any black lines...they're all medium gray.  

But enough messing around...right now I'm working on a serious picture, which I'm determined to make a good background for. It's a little bittersweet, but I shan't reveal who's in it. Okay, it involves Minix-sensei and Linux-sama. But can't say any more.

For something so quick, this picture has a level of depth and charm I haven't seen even in most professional paintings!!  THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!  And your Leopard-chan looks absolutely gorgeous, with well-refined and delicate features!!  AMAZING!!  MIND BLOWING!!!!!!!! ^v^

Maybe it's the angle or the adorable expression or the pleasant gesture, but I can't get my eyes off this picture!  @v@
It has that same pleasant atmosphere as the one with the Vintage-tans snowball fighting.

You are the Authority on cute characters, so I take this as a huge compliment ^_^

And yes, I figured young Leopard-chan would be good, mostly as I thought it'd be sweet for the shy little girl to be approaching XP-tan. That, and I've draw older Leopard-tan twice before.

I have to admit...I had the sketch for a while but vectorizing it this was one of those quick deals. Maybe the details don't have to be perfect if the concept is strong

Though, in hindsight, I was going for the less is more look. And a touch of worse is better.

Actually,... yeah.... if you look at Anime closely, you'll see the UNIX philosophy applied in every single area imaginable.  ^____^

When you think about it, the Unix Philosophy can be seen in all sorts of fields...and that's not always a good thing

Since it kinda got buried under a pile of swoonage, I'm going to again mention I'm working on a semi-sappy Linux-sama and Minix-sensei pic. I'm also going to try to do a background, based off of this:



...Minus the kinetic sculpture or barn. But I figured the open landscape and country road would make for a little comment on the internet of the early 1990s (in which time this picture is set)...or something.
