Yeah, but our nations are sometimes smaller than your states. Just think of Andorra, Luxembourg or San Marino.

At some point you must go to Turkey. It is my favorite country to visit but it's not a "beginner" travel location. You need to really know what you're doing to see the some of the coolest stuff. Overall, a relatively safe country. It was nice not having to go for walks armed. Nearly every major civilization in the past 4000 years has gone through Turkey at some point and left their mark.

That reminded me of another I forgot.
