I live in some rural area. Not much vehicle, it's really calm. if i need something, i have to go all the way to the city. The best thing is, most girl in my village is still virgin.... ;073 hehehehee

your village sounds nice. you must be able to see so many stars in the sky there. :]

my family in canada lives in a village. a bit odd, but pretty. :] so many stars.

ahh, that reminds me of one of the more pleasent things in Iraq... the near total lack of artificial light at night, you can see every star in the sky, and its warm enough that you can lay outside looking at them as long as you want and not get a chill. well in summer at least...

Sounds like a nice place to live....

And Captain, i heard less positive stories about Afghanistan, but they ran out of diesel to power their aircos, so... But i can imagine the country itself being nice (beautiful even), it's just the people that spoil it...

Arizona is the most desert-y place I've ever been to, so I can't talk much for that - however, northern Lapland in the winter months...beautiful.

Night sky holds not a shred of sunlight, and every speckle of starlight reflects uncountable times against the snow, making it bright as dawn - except it's all shining blue. Marvelous, really.

well, wooden shoes are used here mostly by farmers for practical reasons, since they are easy to clean and you can slip them on and off easily...Farmers rarely wear shoes inhouse since their shoes are often covered in mud and other crap...
But wooden shoes or a leather variant with an open back are also used as loafers, since you can wear them outside and walk long bits in them (if you're used to them, that is)...

Windmill part will follow...
