HOMEKO!!!!

My favorite pervy OS-tan (whom I must like cause she's one of my favorite OS's personifications XD)

Gussy Keniji

M'yesh, she's my favorite as well <3 in fact that's the sole reason I put her up as my desktop background

"Wut..."

QuoteNothing less to be expected from Tsubashi-dono.... -.-;
You forgot to take into consideration that maybe he didn't know what this was.... ^^;

Oh! Gomen nasai, I did forget!
*clears throat *

That, my friends, is an awesome. Other names include C-chan, Senpai, or (derogatorily) Bacon bits. He is our forum's number two poster (Following Captain-san), and is the confidant of many of the forums most creative minds (of which he is one). At the present time, he is one of two exclusive Wiki Moderators, being one of the six forum crew members...
*Prattles on indistinctly*

...I'm sure that's gotta be payback for my Apple Newton speech....  -v-;

The closest I've gotten to snapping a pic of Skydome:

And to be fair:

Why does my screen look so much wider on SAM Linux...?

Gomen nasai, I wasn't trying to be rude! I had written more, but upon review, I figure it really wasn't prudent to be listing posting statistics and the such, so I abbreviated it as my own prattlings. ^^'

It's weird that skydome does that. I wonder why?

*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*  That's gotta be part of the payback too....  ^v^
Time to hide in a bunker myself.... -v-

[from inside bunker] Ah!! Crappola!!!  I forgot you asked somewhere about installing Skydome pics!!!  @o@
Gomenasai!!  Gomenasai!!  ;^0^;
Or rather,... no, my gomens just don't sound sincere enough....  -___-
Hold on a sec....

*transmits telegraph message to Tsubashi to "gomenasai" repeatedly on C-chan's behalf*

In any event, let's see if I can find a solution to the unruly skydome pics.... -v-

Beryl is pretty picky about the screen resolution of your Skydome image in relation to the power of your graphics card.  A high-end graphics card could make use of a high-res 4096 x 1024 format, but a smaller one will likely end up with a white or black blank screen.  To fix this, try resizing the horizontal dimension of the skydome image your using.  For instance, if the image was 4096 x 1024, drop it down to 2048x1024.

Sure it might look squished, but as long as you keep the Animate Skydome option selected, the image will stretch out in a panaromic shot resembling its original dimensions.

Just to test this out, download one of my skydome images and see if it works for you:

Cause SAM-chan is young and hip.  ^__^
Homeko's like soooooooooooo 2001..... -v-

Gomen nasai, Gomen nasai, Gomen nasai!

On behalf of my Senpai, I would beg your forgiveness!
*Bows deeply, once more*

Ah!?! Senpai! I don't understand, I didn't mean to offend. Please forgive me! Was it because I truncated my post? Did I say something wrong? I'm so confused!

C-Chan

Fufufu.... while I keep him running in circles, I'll just start building a bunker within his bunker.... ^.^

*starts digging*

In the meantime, I just realized no one's ever posted a Solaris screesnhot, so here we go...  -v-

Too bad they left such an intriguing UNIX desktop with a kick-ass name full behind so badly....  ^^;

Gummster

So that's what Solaris looks like... It's awfully grey don't you think?

C-Chan

They say they'll change that and create a Solaris that will one day best Linux....  ^__^

*snortle snortle chortle chortle*

I hate to say this to such a nice-sounding OS, but,.... "Good Luck".... ^____^;

Gummster

Bella

With the colored buttons and square/right hand side layout, Solaris looks like an odd Aqua/Luna theme hybrid XD

The GIMP and realplayer...? I thought Solaris was mostly a sever OS...?

C-Chan

You can still install neat things on server OSes, of course.  it's not all CLI's and grayscale...  ^___^

Besides, that screenshot is likely of OpenSolaris, which is the OSS version of Solaris.  True, Sun has the former head of Debian working for them, so there is still a way in hell that Solaris may at least catch up to the user-friendliness, ease of installation and overall sugoiness of modern Linuces.  And the fact that they opened up Java recently is a step in the right direction.  ^^

The only thing that's keeping them down is,... well,.... old-school corporatism.  ^___^;

BTW, Bella-san, before you leave, don't forget I fixed your SkyDome problem a few posts back..... ^v^
