Only 20MB for Windows 96?  Really?

EDIT: Ah, those are only the floppies.

System 7.5 in 1994 was about that size as well.

Even Mac OSX Cheetah is only like 170 MB.

I'm a little late to this topic, it seems, but I might as well name off a few of my favorites:

- MS-DOS 6.22 (Still my preferred version of DOS; it has all the features I'm used to)
- Windows 2000 (I still proudly use it to this day)
- OS/2 (I've only used it a few times, but I loved it; in fact, I have an OS/2 mousepad on my desk)
- Macintosh System 7.5 (It was the version of MacOS I used when I was first introduced to the Macintosh. Like Windows 95, it brings back fond memories when I use it)

Bella

I love OS/2 too. Elephantine monstrosity thought it is. >3<

@Pentium: I <3 Win 2k. Biggy has her installed, even if she just sort of sits in the corner for right now. ^^;

I love DOS, all the wee micro and PC ones as much as the gloriousness that is DOS/360.

Not so hot on the micro DOSes (though CP/M was fun! Until I blew up my CP/M machine...) but the large-scale DOSes are awesome... 'v'

Chocofreak13

i wish i had the mad skillz required to use DOS. :[

The Disk operating system era sounds very odd.

You literally take your hardrive out of your home computer and carry it around with you.

Chocofreak13

but i do that already. :\

Why?

I can't really see a purpose of doing it anymore, especially with a Laptop.

But back then, it's what everyone did...

Chocofreak13

because i have a laptop. and i keep my programs and music on externals. :\
