Hello SuLynn, a.ka. GMKosMos!  I love your avatar, being as I'm a fan of XP-tan; and I, too, wish I knew where a bigger version (if such a thing exists) could be found.  By the way:  Go 'Noles!

;hi

=^..^=

GMKosMos

=^..^=  KITTY!! hehe I like that

Silentbob

Welcome GMKosMos! I wish things were a little sunnier where I am! I hope to see you around the forums!

SleepyD

KosMos, Nav, Exa, welcome!

Guess I'll see ya around. ^^

Raffaele the Amigan

Ciao a tutti!  ;hi

Hello everybody!  ;010

I am Raffaele from Naples, Italy!

I am sort like a real Otaku... (Look at my self-made Avatar if you don't believe me!) EHE!  ;006 ;012

And I am here on this beautiful OS-TAN site to let you all know that Amiga[/color] is far from being vintage!  ;011

I am studying how to draw some new OS-Tans for it!

See you soon!  ;010

Mille grazie, Raffaele!  ^v^

*sniff*  Bless you for loving the Amiga Operating System!  ^~^
*cries with happiness*  In a world crawling with Windows users, people like you introduce a much needed breath of fresh air!  ^v^

Amiga-chan thanks you too....  -v-

I'm actually more excited that you're actually using MorphOS, though, since I'm planning on drawing a MorphOS-tan and AROS-tan in the near future.  ^___^

And love your Avi, btw.  Reminds me of Nausicaa with the MorphOS butterfly fluttering around.  ^___^

Actually she pretends to be Nadia of the Blue Water!  ;014  ;hi

P.S. You have a PM!

P.S. Again.:

However i feel strange to see about Amiga-Tan as a girl!

The "un"-official mascotte-tan of Amiga is Amy the Squirrel by Eric Schwartz since 1989...

And AROS-TAN she is Black Furry Lady one:

(Here AROS is hosted into Windows eheheh!)

Wow,...

I knew about the AROS kitty, but not about Amy the Squirrel.  ^^'
That should be prove to be useful.... ^v^

*scribbles down notes*

It shouldn't really strike you as strange, though, since the whole OS-tan phenomenon is based on personifying OSes specifically as Anime-style women/girls.  (as men, they would be called "-kuns", and as furries/animals, well,... that can go either or, such as with the OSX catmen, but are usually just referred to as "mascots".  ^^')

For example, Opera already had a superhero mascot, but an Opera-tan was created anyway and now the two make a lovely pair:

Silentbob

Howdy Raffaele.   Oh, you have a PegasosPPC. Lucky you.   I'm still on 68k.   ;)    But it's still just as fun.

Main infos about amy the Squirrel can be found here:

http://rigby-jones.net/es/amy/

and here:

http://www.randelshofer.ch/animations/anims/nav_eric_w_schwartzVE.html

All animations are all free on Amiga repository:

http://www.aminet.net

If you want to see animation at work you can play it thru real Amigas or thru WINUAE emulator.

http://www.winuae.net

(you need original Kickstart ROM image and original OS disks -1.2, 1.3, 2.0, 2.1 etc. in form of disk-images aka .ADF files).

Complete legal images are on AmigaForever winuae emulator

http://www.amigaforever.com

Amikit legal distribution turns your emulated Amiga max with 256 colors at one time into a complete AmigaOS classic system full expanded and installed with 16 bit audio, 24bit graphics, Internet browsers and TCP/IP stacks, and tons of audio-MP3 players, video players, image viewers, etc.

Hmmmm,... I've been here since July, yet none of the resident Amiga users (past and present) told me anything about a squirrel............  *eyes Pitkin and SilentBob*  Ã,¬___Ã,¬

....................

*cheers up* Oh well, she's due for a pet anyway.  ^__^
I would just have to rewatch a particular episode of Saber Marionette J to get a feel for the concept.  ^^'
