Sounds actually really easy to code, and I know music notification APIs are well implemented on iOS. Sadly all I have is Android SDK at this point so I'll try it on that. You wouldn't happen to know any fitness things would you?

Chocofreak13

what do you mean by fitness things?

Goujer (she/her)

Exercises, practices, stretches, I'm a thin nerd who keeps a high metabolism by eating home grown hot peppers, fitness is almost a foreign language to me.

Chocofreak13

i know very few, but it's something that can be easily researched. :0

Please forgive me, as I haven't seen that episode in at least a year, if not more, but didn't the episode in question have a few different exercises?

Also, there should a way to make sure it doesn't go off when you're sleeping or doing other things aside from turning your phone off. I recall that Spencer didn't like it because it went off when he was doing things.

In the context of the show, it is comedic, but in the real world, that would be annoying, and would turn people off from the app.

Chocofreak13

ha, someone else remembers the episode!

there'd be different excercises, i could only remember 2 off the top of my head.

tbh there'd likely be a snooze function which would likely grant a half-hour of off time (perhaps it could be programmed), and when setting up it'd probably ask one to set their "daylight hours" (ie: time in which they could make use of the app). it definitely wouldn't be for everyone, as there are people who work in jobs that wouldn't allow that (factories, service jobs, teaching), but some would (housewives, office workers, self-employed, groundskeepers). it'd be nice to set it up so that you could have multiple blackout periods, such as one for sleeping and one for regular work/school shifts. :0

Welcome aboard, Legojer. Good to see another coder here! I'm fairly novice myself but have worked with Java, VB.NET, C++ and PHP. And C# (barely). I really want to continue learning C++ and C.

it was from the show iCarly; basically, the idea was it was a fitness app that would go off at random intervals during the day which would make you do 1 minute of simple cardio-based exercise, like windmills or jumping jacks. i could see some issues with it (finding upbeat free-license music, the fact that 1 minute alone doesn't get you working TOO hard, battery drainage), but i still think it'd be a good seller and am wondering why it doesn't exist. :0

I could make this happen. Probably.

Goujer (she/her)

It would be useful to set it so it can only disturb you to exercise during certain hours.

Chocofreak13

certainly! no one likes being awoken from a dream just to find out they have jumping jacks to do. :0

Oh a new person! I am sorry for my absence and delay, much welcome to you.

Goujer (she/her)

It is good to be welcomed. What does it mean to be Apple certified support?

Krizonar

#4706
It is a certification from Apple I have taken and completed, giving me verified knowledge on the Mac OS X platform. In an official capacity, I'm equivalent to Apple Technical Support on Mac matters.

Your interest in it is soothing, I hope we can be friends!

Goujer (she/her)

Cool beans. Where would I go if I wanted to get certified?

Krizonar

There are many areas that hold such things. You can search on their website after picking what you want to try for to see what locations it can be done in. I personally took mine in Charleston, SC, as it was the nearest one to where I live.

Ah.... umm...
...Hi.

I've been a lurker for MANY years here (almost 8 years, I think), but a lack of things to share or to pass useful comments on kept me from registering until very recently.
My interests mostly lie in Lego, and currently I'm attempting to build Nendoroid-like versions of the OS-Tans. I also did some time in a research institute, I specialised in 3D printing and designing, though I must say my skills are nowhere good enough to create figure models *sweats*.

I've also picked up translation of some XP-tan doujins, but currently still stuck with a bunch of raws and no headway. It's been that way since a year xP.

Guess that's about it for me!

Oh, and XP-tan best OS-tan. Evil Microsoft pulling the plug on her ain't gonna change nuthin' between me and her.
